If you thought Balmainia was over, you were wrong. Spanish retail chain Zara has released a limited-edition heeled sandal that resembles the blinged-out Balmain heels that caused oh-so-much commotion when they were released.

The “Zara 1000 Numbered Edition” heeled sandals are emblazoned with a serial number on the sole. They arrive in a specially-designed box and are only being sold in 45 Zara boutiques around the world (with, somewhat obviously, only 1000 pairs available). The shoe itself is made from deconstructed black suede and has thick, criss-crossing straps adorned with metal chains.

The shoe is available now so, if you love it, you better scramble. The limited-edition shoe is available for $229; a steep discount on the price of the Balmain version.

You can’t keep Rodarte down. Just days after the debut of their capsule collection for Target, Rodarte have released a new collection of tees and sweatshirts in collaboration with Opening Ceremony.

The Mulleavy sisters joined forces with two artists – photographer Autumn de Wilde (who has been documenting the sisters’ work since Rodarte’s early days) and David Benjamin Sherry – to create the collection, which brings a light, fun and distinctly Rodarte touch to everyday basics.

A tee featuring a black-and-white photograph by de Wilde is selling for $105, while a sweatshirt with a portrait by Sherry goes for $210.

The collection also includes a series of text-only tees and sweatshirts. Tees that feature the slogan “Radarte” are selling for $105. Sweatshirts that state “J’aime Rodarte” on the front and “Je déteste Rodarte” on the back are selling for $155 while the tee version goes for $115.

Limited quantities of the pieces are available at Opening Ceremony stores in New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo and you can view the collection online here.

So, what do you think of the new collection? Love it or hate it?

Parisian fashion house Chanel has revealed their new spring ad campaign, shot by head designer Karl Lagerfeld. The Latin-inspired campaign features German supermodel Claudia Schiffer, Danish model Freja Beha Erichsen and Lagerfeld-favorite Baptiste Giabiconi.

The campaign was shot in Buenos Aires in Argentina, a surprising choice of location for many considering the Spring 2010 runway show had a heavy country barnyard theme. Claudia is even seen sporting a traditional gaucho hat, apparently a wardrobe staple in Argentina.

It was Lagerfeld’s first time in Argentina. Back in October, when the shoot took place, Lagerfeld told WWD, “I only go to places if I have a professional reason. I’m not a tourist.” He also added that he was planning to work on a forthcoming book about architecture in Argentina.

Yesterday Lindsay Lohan announced the expansion of her leggings label, 6126, into a full-fledged apparel line. The first full collection will launch in fall 2010, with further extensions planned for 2011. Lindsay’s new commitments are in addition to her role as artistic adviser at French brand, Ungaro.

The fall 2010 apparel line will consist of around 100 pieces, including a selection of leggings, Lohan’s staple piece, as well as blazers, dresses, tops and leather jackets. For spring 2011, the brand will expand to include a cosmetics line, handbags, shoes and jewelry. Average retail prices will be between $100 and $150.  The full collection will sell at Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Nordstrom and specialty stores worldwide, including Harrods and Kitson.

Do you think Lindsay’s 6126 Collection will be successful? Will she be more comfortable working with her own style of clothes, rather than the Ungaro aesthetic?
