Alexander McQueen Fall 2010 Footwear

Earlier this year, just weeks after his premature death, Alexander McQueen’s design team quietly showed his final, Angel & Demons-inspired collection to the world. The collection, inspired by the “light and beauty” in the art of the Dark Ages, included a succession of dramatic, medieval-style footwear, as seen below.

Made from polished leather, with metallic finishes, the shoes are a final taste of McQueen’s genius. Each shoe features a sky-high heel sculpted from ornate twigs, flowers, feathers and leaves. Angelic wings in silver and gold appear on the sides of two shoes (one, the Faithful bootie, is an updated version of an earlier shoe).

This early look at the collection only confirms what we already knew: these are sure to be an instant sell-out when they hit the stores. Start saving your money so you can beat Daphne Guinness to be the first to wear these historical shoes.
