Alexander Wang T: Fall 2010

March 3, 2010

As we reported earlier today, Alexander Wang is expanding his T collection to a full lifestyle label for Fall 2010. The line, which started out as a basics line of t-shirts and tanks, will now include all manner of clothing, including pants, blazers, jackets, leggings, dresses, sweaters, scarves, beanies and hooded ponchos.

“As we evolved, I felt like the [main] collection needed to have more of a point of view on the runway,” Wang says. “But I still very much believe in the whole idea of T-shirt dressing. T represents the fluidity and casual aspect of how T-shirts are worn, but will now transcend into different categories.”

According to WWD, Wang plans to keep his two lines in “constant dialogue,” meaning they will both bounce ideas off each other. An example: T’s fall collection has the same chenille and velvet motifs that his runway collection was based around. Check out the preview below and tell us what you think of it.

I know the clothes are wearable but I feel like they are lacking in something, maybe it is the absence of colour and 3 dimensional form that makes them look boring and frumpy.
