Since 2000 the fashion-hungry have regularly flocked to Asos.com for its fast-fashion options and celebrity-inspired pieces, but the UK retailer doesn’t stop there: tomorrow, the latest installment of Asos’s premium Asos Black line hits the website. The Looking Glass Collection owes its name to the book Alice In Wonderland and is, naturally, teeming with flirty frocks, oversized ruffles and whimsical, beaded necklaces.
A muted color palette of nudes, pale pinks and taupe is interrupted at times with a burst of cherry-red. Each piece is given a romantic embellishment, be it layers of lace, ruffles that trickle down the side or a smattering of Egyptian-style beading. Necklaces are worn like breastplates and covered in chains, sequins and metallic baubles; sky-high wedges are made from soft suede, with cut-out panels for added glamour; jumpsuits are given a one-shouldered, 1970s touch.
The first pieces from the collection hit Asos.com tomorrow, with more on the way over the coming weeks.
