Many of our favorite celebs attended the big British film awards event The BAFTA’s recently, possibly giving up a sneak style preview, of what to expect at this year’s OSCAR’s. Looks favored by most seemed to be classic black and dark tones, dazzling embellishment and pattern, on-trend colorblocking and bright hues with Angelina Jolie making a style statement by opting to mirror husband Brad Pitt in smart tailoring.
L-R Actress Amy Adams opted for a rather demure black dress comprising a collared satin and sheer top and long slimline skirt. Her hair scraped back into a side bun and bright red lips completed her look perfectly. Model Jodie Kidd favored the very elegant hue of navy-blue. Her fishtail satin gown showcased her enviable slimline figure well. With her loose blonde hair framing her shoulders, and co-ordinated clutch and peep-toes, she oozed elegance. Actress Uma Thurman kept it simple in a sleeveless classic black column gown. With hair loosely tied back and matching silver jewelry she looked effortlessly beautiful.L-R Actress Cate Blanchett opted for classic black but with a slight difference. Her short-sleeved slimline satin gown was uniquely adorned with large silver flowers and her statement necklace co-ordinated well. Actress Joely Richardson also favored the quite popular sleeveless column gown. A large sun-like pattern emblazoned the side of her red gown making her standout for all the right reasons. Actress Maggie Gyllenhall chose heavy embellishment in a navy-blue lace gown with long sleeves and a jeweled bodice. Her elfin copped hair added the right amount of simplicity to her look ensuring that her gown made maximum impact.L-R Actress Gillian Anderson also favored the ever-elegant hue of navy-blue in a sleeveless ballgown style dress. The colorblocked pleated bodice of clashing blue hues and well co-ordinated sapphire jewelry made her look all the more fabulous. Singer Lily Allen stood out in bright orange and pink. Her colorblocked satin gown comprised a sleeveless orange bodice, pink full skirt with ruched detailing and pink sash. Quirky pink feathered hair accessories added to her statemented stand-out look. Actress Michelle Rodriguez’s cap-sleeved slimline green satin gown, with a colorblocked black patterned bodice, oozed elegance and was well paired with gold accessories and loose tousled locks.L-R Actress Lupita Nyong can do no wrong in the style stakes lately. She stunned yet again in her emerald-colored belted Dior gown with overwhelmingly long train. Actress Angelina Jolie shunned the more obvious floor-length gown in favor of smart tailoring, making a true style statement, by mirroring husband Brad Pitt in her Saint Laurent tuxedo.
I think it’s safe to say that these fabulous red carpet BAFTA looks have left us on the edge of our seats and in anticipation of what to expect style-wise at the most talked about red carpet event of the year the OSCARS.
