Today I spent two hours looking for beach hair styles that are easy and effortless. I am heading to the beach next week to laze around in the sun and soak up all the heat and beach air that I can get.
I’ve been putting in some serious preparation time. This has involved research into fake tan (I am way too paranoid for any other method), serious facial scrubs and more, so that I am completely beach-ready. When I looked up beach hair styles today, I came up with this perfect, windswept, wispy look, courtesy of Alessandra Ambrosio.
WANT THE LOOK?
First of all, I’ll be getting some highlights in my hair to bring out the blonde strands. I’ve also invested in an expensive blonde-ing shampoo which is supposed to highlight the blonde parts and make them last longer. Before heading to the beach I’ll be making sure to run a comb through my hair so that when I go swimming, it won’t knot up any more than it has to. The salt water should do the rest.
However, if you’re like me, and you want “beach hair” all year round, in all my research I’ve managed to accumulate and combine the following tips so that when you’re in the midst of winter and desperate to reinvigorate your hair with the nostalgia of beach days, you can.
- Give your hair a deep shampoo and condition.
- Towel-dry your hair and then “scrunch” it with your fingers.
- Braid your hair in a thick braid so as to not create too much of a crimping effect.
- Go to bed. When you wake, the perfect beachy waves.
If you’re not in the mood for doing all this, you can also put sea salt (not cooking salt) and water in a spray bottle, shake it up and spray it on, however as we all know, salt can have a dehydrating effect on your hair, so use with caution. After you’ve sprayed your hair, if you have time, add a leave-in conditioner to help keep your hair in its best condition.
