A new season always calls for a new scent. While spring and summer evoke thoughts of flirty floral and juicy citrus notes, for fall and winter, we prefer musky wood and spicy floral notes. Happily, we were recently offered the opportunity to try Calvin Klein Beauty, the new fragrance from Calvin Klein designed to “capture the spirit of the empowered woman.”
First, let’s start with the minutiae: Calvin Klein Beauty is a fusion of neo-lily (a new interpretation of a lily), ambrette seeds, jasmine and cedarwood. Accordingly, Calvin Klein Beauty is a warm floral fragrance with a spicy undertone that, you’ll find, lingers and lingers, until it takes on the scent of a gentle musk.
Our thoughts? Calvin Klein Beauty is pretty. It’s feminine and flirty, which makes it great for a first date or a night out with the girls. It instantly evokes childhood memories of fragrance counters, which gives it a timelessness that is hard to bottle. It lasts all day—this is the scent you’ll notice on the wind as a woman walks by. Plus, it’s not too heavy, not too light—although the scent starts out strong, you’ll find that it quickly eases into a soft but warm scent.
Calvin Klein Beauty is available as an Eau de Parfum spray ($50 – $85), a Luminous Bath & Shower Crème ($42), or a Luminous Skin Lotion ($34). It is available now at select department stores such as Macy’s and Sephora.
