For most people, different seasons call for different skin care regimes. As winter approaches every year, I always revise my beauty plans a little. Now that I am in America, where it will snow, my regime needs a big change so I decided to try out some of the samples that I have received lately. The first part of the winter beauty plan is to check out a new moisturizer and my latest trial has been Cetaphil’s UVA/UVB Defense SPF50 Moisturizer.
In winter, your skin tends to dry out because of the decreased humidity so a stronger moisturizer might become necessary. Although Cetaphil’s offering might sound like a summer moisturizer, given that it has the highest SPF available, it is important to use SPF all year round, to avoid brown spots, fine lines and wrinkles.
I started using Cetaphil’s UVA/UVB Defense SPF 50 about a week ago. I usually through my facial moisturizer on after I shower and then again at night, right before bed. Although Cetaphil’s moisturizer feels thick when it comes out of the tube, it quickly absorbs into the skin. Although you can smell the SPF, which leaves you yearning for the beach, it isn’t heavy or sticky, which has been a problem for me in the past.
By the time I wake each morning, my skin definitely feels hydrated and smooth, but not overly so. In the past, a lot of moisturizers have left me feeling greasy, even with just one application per day. Cetaphil’s moisturizer is thoroughly non-greasy, which is a relief, and it doesn’t leave a reflective sheen on my face.
On a side note, if you have skin that is easily irritated, Cetaphil are known for their non-irritating products. I already use Cetaphil’s cleanser on a daily basis, so I definitely went into this trial feeling pretty good.
