Beauty Buys: Fall 2010

Whether you’re revamping your entire beauty regime or just looking for a new nail color or eyeshadow to boost your beauty kit, there are oh-so-many options this fall. Plus, the color palette this season is, simply put, gorgeous! If you’re a fan of bold, statement-making beauty looks, pay special attention to burgundy lipsticks, soft and smoky eyes, and metallic nails. Conversely, if you favor an understated and minimalist look, consider lavender eyeshadows, glossy lips, and ruddy red nail polishes. Whichever way you go, we’re sure we have plenty of inspiration in today’s story! On that note, we present Beauty Buys: Fall 2010.

1. Golden Gloss Shimmering Lip Gloss in Golden Toffee (#31) ($30) by Yves Saint Laurent
Whether you are heading out on a shopping spree or planning your perfect party look, a glimmering lip gloss is a perfect match for the low-key girl. This high-shine lip gloss by YSL is perfect for fall: the pink-beige color will emphasize your rosy cheeks, while the real 24-carat-gold flecks will add a heavy dose of glamour to your look. Available now at Nordstrom and Sephora.

2. Classic Cream Lipstick in (#165) Amethyst ($30) by Dolce & Gabbana
Deep purple lips are always a showstopper, which is just one of the reasons why we love this creamy new lipstick by Dolce & Gabbana. The other? Makeup artist Pat McGrath used it on Scarlett Johansson’s lips in Dolce & Gabbana’s fall advertising campaign and the result was bold and beautiful. “It’s really all about the lips—very shiny and dark, super sexy,” said McGrath. Available now at Saks Fifth Avenue.

3. Le Vernis Nail Polish Trio in Kissed By Paris ($29) by Lancôme
Inspired by “a hedonistic era during which women freed themselves of conventions,” Lancôme’s French Coquettes collection is pretty and picture perfect. Our favorite product is a three-piece collection of miniature Le Vernis shades, called Kissed By Paris. The trio includes: Parisian Attraction, a plum red (pictured); Sweet Nude, a pinky-nude; and, Plum Fetish, a sparkling berry. Why? There is a color for every occasion, whether it’s a first date or girl’s night out. Available now at Nordstrom.

4. Haute & Naughty Lash Mascara ($18) by MAC Cosmetics
Beauty industry insiders are buzzing over MAC’s newest lash mascara, thanks to its two-in-one dual wiper system and lightweight formula. The concept is simple: One wiper refines your lashes, providing you with a natural look that is great for lunch dates and business meetings. The other wiper loads the lashes, making it the perfect go-to beauty product for a fabulous party or night on the town. Available now at Nordstrom.

5. 5-Colours Designer Eyeshadow Palette in (#808) Pink Design ($58) by Dior
A soft and smoky eye is the perfect fall beauty look, which is why we love this new eyeshadow palette by Dior. The palette includes an iridescent pearl eyeshadow base, a creamy purple-black liner, and shimmering eyeshadows in lilac, pink and rose. The best part? Whether you prefer a fuss-free or forthright beauty look, you can create a great smoky eye with the colors in this palette. Available at Nordstrom and Sephora.

6. Fabulous Felines Burmese Beauty Lipstick in Kittenish ($14.50) by MAC Cosmetics
Red lipstick is a red carpet and runway favorite for good reason. The look is classic, sophisticated and chic, no matter which way you work it. This season, we’re completely smitten with MAC’s limited edition Fabulous Felines collection, especially the lipsticks. Our favorite? Kittenish, a deep and creamy berry red that will ensure you turn heads wherever you go thanks to its glamorous and sultry hue. Available now at Nordstrom and Bloomingdales.

7. Le Vernis Nail Colour in Paradoxal ($23) by Chanel
We admit it: we have an unhealthy obsession with Chanel nail polish, which is why we simply had to include Chanel’s latest cult hit nail color, Paradoxal. Paradoxal is an enigmatic mix of gray and metallic plum, with a healthy dose of red and violet microshimmer. In other words, it is the perfect fall color! The rich purple-gray hue will complement your fall wardrobe, while the metallic shine will amplify all your holiday party looks. Available now at Chanel.

8. Lip Definer Shaping Pencil in Sepia & Brick Red ($27) by Burberry
The beauty world was abuzz earlier this year when Burberry revealed its first beauty collection, a sophisticated line-up of must-have beauty products. Here at Mama’s A Rolling Stone, we love the Lip Definer pencils. They come in all the right colors (a range of soft pinks, are super smooth, and even come with their own sharpener for maximum simplicity. What more could we ask for? Available now at Nordstrom.
