Beauty Buys: Pre-Fall 2011

If you consider yourself a die-hard beauty fan, you probably don’t need much of a reason to buy a new lipstick here or an eyeshadow there. Well, dear readers, you are not alone on that front—here at Mama’s A Rolling Stone, all it takes is a lull between seasons. On that note, we’d like to welcome you to a special pre-fall edition of Beauty Buys. We have rounded up a fresh batch of must-have products that will see you through these in-between months in style. So, whether you are looking for a fresh nail polish color or a pretty new blush, make sure you read on as you are sure to find something you love—and plenty of reasons to buy it—inside!

Now, we have to make one admission before we delve into our latest must-have beauty buys: right now, we are obsessed with pretty products and less preoccupied with practical products. For instance, how could we resist the temptation of the new Oh, Lola! Fragrance ($68) from Marc Jacobs? Not only does it feature luscious notes of raspberry, vanilla, peony and pear, but it comes in a to-die-for bottle that is more decoration than decanter. In that same way, we adore Givenchy’s Le Prisme Blush Glow ($44). The four colors in this palette are so pretty that you probably won’t want to touch them. Plus, you can blend these shades together to create your perfect hue! Of course, if you are working with a tight budget in mind, you may instead want to check out Topshop’s Cheek Duo ($24)! It is just as pretty and will leave you with a fresh and rosy glow! Speaking of which, if you like to maximize your time by using multitasking products, you should definitely check out the 3 X A Charm Luminizer, Blush, Bronzer ($28) by Charlotte Ronson. You can mix and match the trio of colors to create a range of looks, or use the hues individually for a quick ready-to-go beauty look.

As we move closer to the fall/winter season, we also have our lips on our mind. After all, we all know how much havoc the winter weather can wreak on our poor pouts! On that note, we are seriously coveting the Kiss of Hope Tinted Lip Treatments ($16) from Philosophy. The unique formula contains natural oils as well as mango and shea butters, all of which help to nourish your lips when they need it most. Then again, it will be hard to say no to the new Larger Than Life Lip Glosses ($26) from NARS Cosmetics. Available in nine pretty hues, these glosses are creating major buzz thanks to their long-lasting color and serious shine. Now, your beauty look wouldn’t be complete with a new nail polish or two, which is why we would like to introduce you to Essie’s Nail Color in Raspberry & Angora Cardi ($8 each). These may not be new hues, but they are making a major comeback thanks to their spot-on shades. Plus, these colors will easily transition from summer through to fall. Finally, we wanted to pick up something in preparation for party season and we just couldn’t look past Forever 21’s Metallic Eyelash Curler ($2.80). It will add a fun touch to your beauty kit and will make a cute gift for the beauty fan in your life! On that note, we hope you enjoy our latest Beauty Buys! Happy shopping!
