Beauty Buys: Summer Steals

Despite the fact that we tone down our beauty regime when summer arrives, there are so many amazing beauty products on the market at all times that we are always coveting something new. Unfortunately, that is bad news for our budget—and we have a feeling we’re not alone! On that note, let us welcome you to a very special edition of Beauty Buys! Yes, dear readers, with your wallet in mind, we have rounded up a slew of summer beauty steals and we are pleased to report that they are all under $15! Whether you are in the market for a batch of new nail polish colors, or you want to try a new summery scent, you are bound to find something you love—at an affordable price—in today’s Beauty Buys story! Read on!

Now, here at Mama’s A Rolling Stone, we like to divide our products into two categories: the products we need and the products we want. Don’t get us wrong, dear readers, both categories are equally important, but they do serve different purposes. The products we need include cleansing products such as soap and cleanser, or skin care products such as moisturizer and scrubs. The products we want include nail polishes, lipsticks, eyeshadows, and other cosmetics. So, which budget beauty buys fall into the “need” category? This summer, we simply can’t resist the allure of The Body Shop’s Satsuma Soap ($4). Not only do we believe that nothing says summer like a sweet citrus scent, but we love that The Body Shop has a strict policy against animal testing! On a less serious note, we are also planning to pick up Lush’s Bubblegum Lip Scrub ($8.95) and Smith’s Rosebud Salve ($8). These products are sure to whip our lips into shape just in time for chilly winter weather.

As for the products in our “want” category, we have found a slew of amazing budget-friendly beauty products to covet this summer. The most notable product is Sephora’s Color Palette ($12). In fact, it seems almost too good to be true—the palette includes 32 eyeshadows, 16 lip colors, three blushes and a bronzer—but we assure you, dear readers, it isn’t! Once you have recovered from the shock, make sure you also check out American Apparel’s Neon Nail Polish 3-Pack ($15). Summer is the best time to experiment with bright nail colors and this may be the quickest way to give your beauty kit a colorful boost! On that note, you should also be sure to check out Topshop’s Lip Glaze ($12) as well as the 100% Natural Juicy Tubes ($15) by Yayoi Kusama for Juicy Tubes. Both these products will give your lips a heavy dose of color and have a lightweight texture, which is perfect for an unfussy summer!

With these items in mind, it is time to round out our collection with a few last-minute purchases! We always love to try a new lightweight scent in summer and this season we particularly love Tocca Beauty’s Florence To Go Fragrance ($15) thanks to its pretty notes—grapefruit leaves, green pear, apple cocktail, and crushed violet petals, just to name a few! In addition, we love Forever 21’s Mini Kabuki Brush ($3.80). This brush offers full coverage, plus the budget-friendly price means you can pick up one, two, or a few! Finally, you will need something to hold all your favorite products, so definitely take a look at The Sak’s Artist Circle Cosmetic Handbag ($8.99)! It features a pretty print and plenty of room! Happy shopping!
