Regular readers will know that here at Mama’s A Rolling Stone, we like to start every new season with a new scent. On that note, let us introduce you to BCBG Max Azria Eau de Parfum ($55 – $75) by BCBG Max Azria. With notes of wild strawberry, black cherry, violet, and creamy sandalwood, this fragrance has just the right mix of sweet and spicy. Moving on to makeup, this winter you should be looking for pieces that work for party season, but also beyond—in other words, they need to be glamorous, but also suitable for every day. Our first find is Lancôme’s Maison Lancôme Gentle and Long Lasting Powder Blusher ($40). Although it will be hard to break into this blush—it is almost like a piece of art—it is guaranteed to give you a pretty, rosy flush. We are also smitten with the new bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 4.0 in The Dream Sequence ($30) by Bare Escentuals. This palette features four shades—ranging from lilac through to dark violet—that can be applied separately or together to create a pretty, smoky eye look. Speaking of amazing eye looks, you should definitely make sure you check out the new Pigment in Circa Plum ($20, coming soon) by Daphne Guinness for MAC. It is hardly surprising that Ms. Guinness would create such an alluring product—she is one of the most captivating people in fashion, after all—but we are truly charmed by this pretty plum-purple pot. If pigments are your poison, make sure you snap this one up when it arrives on December 26.
When it comes to your lips, winter is a great season to try out a rich red or purple, which is why we love Gareth Pugh for MAC’s Lipstick in Fervent ($22). This lipstick comes in a deep purple, so it isn’t for the faint of heart, but it is definitely worth it if you want something rich and decadent this winter. On the other hand, if you want something a little more classic, you should definitely check out Le Metier de Beaute’s Lip & Nail Duo in Red My Lips ($49). The set features a Bordeaux red lipstick and nail polish—classic, timeless, and oh-so chic. Of course, you don’t need to be ladylike all the time—in fact, the party season is the best time to add a little drama to your beauty look. That said, make sure you check out OPI’s Nail Lacquer in Getting’ Miss Piggy With It ($9). The sparkly red shade will definitely bring life to any party ensemble you put together. Last, but certainly not least, who can say no to a brand new makeup bag, especially when you have a stack of new products? We simply can’t resist Charlotte Ronson’s Makeup Bag ($20). Its vintage lace print is so pretty, but most importantly, it will fit all your winter essentials. Happy shopping!
