Beauty Bulletin: Schick Intuition Plus

Beauty Bulletin: Schick Intuition PlusEarlier this week I was digging through a box of beauty samples when I came across the Schick Intuition Plus razor. When it comes to hair removal products, I will be the first person to stand up and give a new product a try, having spent years hoping to find that one, pain-free, effortless product.

The Schick Intuition Plus is billed as an all-in-one product, with a three-part system that lathers, shaves and moisturizes all at once. The razor, which has four blades, is set in the middle of a built-in lather bar (basically it looks like a small bar of soap). As you shave, the bar lathers up your leg which allows the razor to glide smoothly over the surface of your leg.

On my first try, the shaving felt really smooth and there was definitely no need for shaving cream or any other product. The lather worked really well and there was no friction at all. Unfortunately, if you use your shaving cream as a guide to see where you have already shaved, you’ll be a little lost with this razor. The lather isn’t thick so you’ll have to use your memory or you will miss a few spots.

After my shower, my legs were as smooth as they have been with any other razor. I let the built-in moisturizer do its job and my legs didn’t seem like they were any worse off for it.

At this point, I have used it twice and it’s been fine. I do, however, foresee future problems. As the lather bar melts away after each use, you’ll end up with just a razor. The cartridge refills are around $8.49 for a pack of three. We’re all used to replacing razor after razor but the price tag on the Schick Intuition Plus razor is a little more than your average product. While I would definitely say that the Schick Intuition Plus is a time-saver, you have to decide whether your time is worth more than your money.
