If you, like many of us, change your hair color as and when the mood strikes, perhaps you shoulder consider switching to red. A slew of celebrities have recently been spotted out and about with fiery red locks, suggesting it is the new hair color du jour—for instance, last night, at the Time 100 Gala in New York City, Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively debuted copper-red locks. Earlier this month, Drew Barrymore showed up to a West Hollywood event with a fiery-red ‘do, while The Bang Bang Club actress Malin Akerman was spotted with new strawberry-red locks just last week. What do you think of this new bold new hair trend?

Lady Gaga’s recent Vanity Fair cover is one of the most striking photographs of the singer to date. Why? Gaga poses naked, of course, wearing only an embellished cat collar, long gray hair and soft gray nails—hardly the loud, overstated Gaga that fans are accustomed to. Of course, here at Mama’s A Rolling Stone, our eyes were immediately drawn to her nails, which were painted in the pre-fall color du jour—a creamy gray hue called Waking Up In Vegas—by nail color expert Deborah Lippman. This neat neutral is the perfect transitional shade—while it works well with summer’s sultry shades, it also complements fall’s warmer washes. For a mysterious yet glamorous beauty fix, check out these five perfect pre-fall grays.
