Take A Sneak Peek At The Trina Turk & Banana Republic Collaboration

There are plenty of things to look forward to this summer but one that should be at the top of your list is the upcoming Trina Turk and Banana Republic collaboration. Just look at the colorful designs! A printed halterneck bikini top is paired with bright orange shorts; a ruffled strapless maxi dress is ready for a poolside party; and a bandeau bikini is coupled with a white cardigan and a tangerine shoulder bag. And these are just a couple of the looks that we can look forward to. The full Trina Turk for Banana Republic collection will arrive at Banana Republic stores, as well as online at BananaRepublic.com, on June 7. Prices will start at $34.50.

Here Are the Winning "Fashion Star" Looks

Last night, the final episode of Fashion Star featured a showdown between Ronnie Escalante, Nzimiro Oputa, and Kara Laricks, but as you know, only one winner could be crowned and that winner was Kara Laricks. Kara’s final collection included a series of geometric print pieces, a gorgeous bib-front evening gown, a sophisticated shift dress (left), a pair of wide-leg pants that feature a wrap-around panel at the front (right), and a cute romper. Of course, Kara’s winning looks are now available at H&M, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Macy’s, ready to be purchased by the admiring public, so click through to these three stores if you want to support the first Fashion Star, Kara Laricks.

Look Of The Day: Alice Dellal in Chanel

Alice Dellal attended the Chanel cruise show yesterday, which was held at Chateau de Versailles in Versailles, France. Naturally, Alice wore a Chanel couture dress, which she paired with a Chanel Boy bag. We like the contrast between Alice’s punky vibe and the gorgeous Chanel dress. What do you think of her latest look?

Elizabeth Banks Covers Allure's June 2012 IssueElizabeth Banks graces the cover of Allure magazine’s June 2012 issue wearing a sequined Donna Karan gown. Inside, Elizabeth discusses having her son via gestational surrogate, her body, and out-earning her husband.

On having her son, Felix, via gestational surrogate: “It’s essentially a test-tube baby—it’s just that the test tube is another woman. That you can grow a baby outside of yourself! It’s just amazing!”

On her body: “I thought I had chicken legs, and I thought, Oh, my boobies are too small. It was the era of Cindy Crawford and The Body—and I didn’t have that.”

On out-earning her husband: “Well, we’re the first generation to do it. And it’s very ingrained even in our DNA that men are hunter-gatherers who are meant to go off and provide. And that we are really meant to stay at home and have kids…. Let’s be honest. Men love a second income. It gets them their boat and their vacations. They want their wives to work.”

Also inside the June 2012 issue: a frizz-free hairstyle guide. For more, pick up the issue when it arrives on newsstands on May 22 or head to Allure.com.
