Style Tips: Red Dresses

Now that we’re on the eve of crisp fall weather, we have something on our mind: how can we give our fall wardrobe a bright injection of color? Problem solved! A bright red dress—whether it is a ruffled party iteration, a skintight mini, or a floaty bohemian-luxe style—is, simply put, the most effortless way to infuse your fall aesthetic with vivid color. Plus, thanks to tastemakers like Lily Aldridge, Isabel Lucas and Jessica Szhor, there is a slew of style inspiration to mull over! Whether you opt for rocker-chic accessories à la Alexa Chung, or a laidback look like Isabel Lucas, we’re sure you’ll find plenty of ideas in today’s Style Tips story! Read on!

#1. Give your red dress a glam-rock twist with edgy accessories.
Last year, British TV presenter and model Alexa Chung was spotted at the Calvin Klein boutique opening in New York in, of course, a bright Calvin Klein Collection minidress. Naturally, she gave it a unique spin by pairing it with patent black ankle boots and a statement necklace (or two!) The result? A bold, sassy look that, with the right attitude, works for day and night. For a similarly stylish ensemble, start with Roxy’s Get One Dress ($44.50) or French Connection’s Ann Sharp Shoulder Dress ($53.92). Add Free People’s Chain & Feather Bib Necklace ($38) and a pair of patent ankle boots; we like Proenza Schouler’s Bentel Patent Wedge Ankle Boots ($995) and Velvet Angels’ Vox Lace Up Ankle Boots ($189.72).

#2. Mix a formfitting minidress with nude pumps for a subtly sexy look.
A simple minidress is not-so-simple when finished in a pop of bright red, as evidence by Cameron Diaz, who wore a bright Oscar de la Renta minidress to the LA premiere of Shrek Forever After. Naturally, Cameron is totally in tune with her overtly sexy dress and, for that reason, paired it with minimalist nude pumps for a subtly sexy look. To recreate Cameron’s ensemble, start with a bold red minidress—we like Oasis’s Bow Shoulder Shift ($92.68) and Sparkle & Fade’s Knit Bow Back Dress ($48). Then, simply add a pair of French Connection’s January Platform Heeled Court Shoes ($168.50) and a slick of Tarte’s Natural Lip Stain ($24) in Charmed. So easy and so effortless!

#3. Add the cool factor to your ensemble with studded boots.
Actress Sienna Miller is known for her ability to mix and match pieces to perfection, creating cool mash-ups with a rock and roll edge. Case in point: this edgy ensemble, which Sienna wore for a London dinner date with Jude Law. Alone, her dress is sleek and sophisticated. With the addition of studded boots, it is as cool as Sienna herself. If you love this look, start with Kova & T’s Jeannie Open-Back Silk Dress ($173.25) and add a pair of studded booties; we like Rosegold’s Halle Suede Studded Cuff Booties ($177) and Giuseppe Zanotti’s Suede Ankle Boots ($450). For the finishing touch, add Topshop’s Leopard Tassel Cross Body Bag ($60).

#4. Give your red dress a flirty twist with oversized ruffles and a sweetheart neckline.
At the Hollywood premiere of Piranha 3-D, actress Jessica Szohr looked perfectly polished in a cherry-red Notte by Marchesa dress. We love how the oversized ruffles are balanced by the fitted waist and sweetheart neckline—all in all, this is a perfect party look for the flirty femme, and one that is easily achieved with some smart styling. For an equally elegant combo, try pairing ASOS’s Bow Front Bandeau Dress ($77.51) or Juicy Couture’s Strapless Dress ($104.40) with Claudia Ciuti’s Dionex Pumps ($196.35). To complete your look, add a cute clutch; we like Juliette Jake’s Wrap Around Clutch ($575) and Lauren Merkin’s Diana Metallic Snake Clutch ($195).

#5. Pair your red dress with loose hair and leather sandals for a hippie-luxe look.
Australian actress Isabel Lucas consistently impresses us with her vintage dress collection, so we weren’t surprised to see yet another cute sundress on Isabel when she was spotted out and about in Los Angeles last month. We love how the dress’s breezy fabric and loose silhouette give her ensemble an unfussy vibe. Likewise, we’re smitten with her low-key accessories! Overall, it’s an effortless look worth repeating! To take a leaf out of Isabel’s book, start with a lighthearted dress like Nasty Gal’s Farrow Lace Collar Dress ($58) or Forever 21′s Retro Woven Dress ($24.90). Complete your ensemble with loosely-tousled hair, Cordani’s Yari T-Strap Sandals ($299) and Ankora’s Love Braided Bracelet Set ($133).

#6. Perfect your “I’m with the band” ensemble with a breezy shirt dress and a cool attitude.
We admit it: we’re a little jealous of Lily Aldridge. After all, she’s a jet-setting model with a body to die for, she has a rock-star for a boyfriend, and, most importantly, she has a killer sense of style. Proof positive: last year, she was spotted leaving a Kings Of Leon concert in a red hot shirtdress, which she paired with simple leather sandals. The result? An effortlessly cool look that is sure to turn heads. For an equally easy look, we like TBags’ Button Front Belted Dress ($119.99). Worn with a pair of sandals, such as Tibi’s Eden Flat Sandals ($330.95) or DV By Dolce Vita’s DIOS T-Strap Sandals ($54.95), you’ll be ready to live the rock and roll lifestyle in no time.

While cocktail dresses and polished skirts have long been the go-to pieces for a picture-perfect party outfit, the surprising new separate du jour is a pair of dressy shorts. This super-flattering look has come a long way since its first appearance, thanks in part to early-adopters like Olivia Palermo and Kate Moss, and iconic brands such as Chloe, Prada and Dolce & Gabbana. Accordingly, if you’re looking to include a pair of dressy shorts in your next event ensemble, there are a slew of different styling options to choose from.

While fashion-forward femmes like Kate Moss and Chloe Sevigny opt for statement blazers and plenty of leg, starlets like Olivia Palermo and Margherita Missoni style their dressy shorts with flirty blouses and round-toed pumps. As you can see, the options are endless! Whichever direction you choose, we are sure you’ll find plenty of inspiration from the six chic celebs in this month’s edition of Style Tips.

#1. Pair your shorts with a structured blazer for a classic summer-ready ensemble: Given her status as one of the world’s most stylish women, it comes as no surprise that supermodel Kate Moss is leading the charge with her chic take on dress shorts. By pairing her shorts with wedges, a slinky top and a structured blazer (in a complementary color, natch), Kate has created a fresh look that is subtly sexy – think an updated, modern version of Diane Keaton’s Annie Hall. For a similarly stylish ensemble, start with Topshop’s Silk Drop Crotch Shorts ($60) or Anthropologie’s Terra Firma Shorts ($69.95). Add Barila’s Tencel Knot Top ($120) and a structured blazer – we like Oasis’s Double Breasted Blazer ($75.80) and Theory’s Bindi TS Blazer ($365).

#2. Mix textured shorts with a bold print for a bohemian-luxe look: Margherita Missoni is known for her confident gypset aesthetic and this outfit is no exception! We love how Margherita has played with textures and prints to create an ensemble perfect for an exotic party, a fashion show or a day out shopping in Milan. To recreate her look, start with a pair of printed shorts with textured fabric or bold details – we like Anna Sui’s Ethno Print Shorts ($152.84) and Vena Cava’s Dorze Shorts ($192.50). Then, simply add a loose blouse, such as Joie’s Martine Blouse ($198) or Rachel Roy’s Tailored Shirt ($397.50), and neutral pumps –Colin Stuart’s Round-Toe Platform Pumps ($49) are ideal.

#3. Give your dress shorts a low-key twist by adding a simple tee to the mix: Actress Cameron Diaz has an athletic body, by nature – as such, dress shorts are a great way to show off her physique while looking fun, feminine and flirty. While her outfit has several polished elements, such as a fitted blazer and suede wedges, she has kept it low-key by throwing on a simple white tee. The result? An outfit that stays true to Cameron’s sporty-yet-chic aesthetic. If you love this look, grab Topshop’s Tailored Shorts ($100) and layer them underneath your favorite white tee. Then, throw on Dallin Chase’s Giovanni Blazer ($106) and a pair of edgy suede wedges – we like J Crew’s Dorian Wedges ($238) and L.A.M.B.’s Zane Wedge Sandals ($135.85).

#4. Soften a pair of knit shorts with a lightweight, sheer blouse and simple pumps: Reality star Olivia Palermo is always perfectly put-together, with nary a hair out of place; happily, she achieves this refined appearance by mixing contemporary pieces with classic designers. Here, she balances a pair of heavy, knit shorts with a sheer, lightweight blouse – the result is perfect for a low-key office setting or an after-hours cocktail. For an equally chic combo, layer Rachel Roy’s Classic Skorts ($89) underneath a sheer blouse – Elizabeth and James’s Aimee Blouse ($265) is ideal. Finish off your look with Joan & David’s Flipp Platform Pumps ($139.99).

#5. Dress up denim with a feminine blazer and a cute clutch: We admit it – we cheated a little with our next pick. While actress Chloe Sevigny is actually wearing fitted denim shorts, they take on a more polished appearance when paired with chic attire like a scalloped blazer, smart clutch and ankle boots. The overall effect is polished and pretty, with a little edge. To take a leaf out of Chloe’s book, start with a flirty jacket like Nanette Lepore’s Rescue Me Jacket ($398) or La Rok’s Vintage Cigarette Jacket ($258). Complete your ensemble with your favorite denim shorts, Nine West’s Palomar Ankle Boots ($98.95) and Rebecca Minkoff’s The Clutch ($330).

#6. Play with color by using soft pastel shades and touches of grey: It isn’t a surprise to see reality star/designer Whitney Port incorporate various pastel shades into her look – after all, she has never been afraid of color. However, as Whitney demonstrates, there is a trick to wearing colorful dressy shorts: wear muted or low-key versions of your favorite shades, whether you go for pastels or darker tints. For a stylishly subdued look like Whitney’s, pair AllDressedUp’s Ruched Cotton Shorts ($79.50) with a soft blazer like Asos Black’s Pearl Shoulder Waterfall Blazer ($185.30) or Asos’s Dipped Hem Silk Blazer ($33.69). Throw on a grey tee and a pair of metallic sandals and you are good to go.

For the last few years skinny jeans have been the denim du jour; lately, however, we have noticed that the wide leg jean has been making a quiet comeback, thanks in part to faithful fans like Rachel Zoe and Nicole Richie. This super-flattering and laidback look is heavily influenced by the bell-bottom jeans of the 1960s and 70s hippie-era and is the easiest way to give you a longer, skinnier leg.

As longtime lovers of the wide leg/bell-bottom jean, we are beyond thrilled to see it returning to the fashion map. With that in mind, we decided to take an in-depth look at the various ways to style the wide leg jean with six stylish ladies leading the way. Whether you opt for a modern, rock & roll look like Kate Moss, or you stick with the bohemian styles of the 70s like Nicole Richie, we are sure you’ll be inspired by this month’s edition of Style Tips.

#1. Pairing your wide leg jeans with a cropped jacket adds length to your legs: Of course, we couldn’t start this story off without paying tribute to number one fan, Rachel Zoe, whose allegiance to 7 For All Mankind’s Ginger Jeans saw the denim brand reissue the style just for her. Named the Rachel Bellbottom ($169) and available exclusively at Piperlime, this is Rachel’s go-to jean and an integral part of her daily uniform. Rachel recommends pairing the jean with a “long tee, fitted jacket and tranny shoes.” We like Vince’s Long Sleeve Pocket Tee ($85), Asos’s Cropped Pleat Shoulder Blazer ($67.64) and Dolce Vita’s Fontana Platform Wedged Heel ($178).

#2. Give your wide leg jeans a casual-yet-cool feel by pairing them with colorful flats and tanks: Kate Bosworth is known for her personal brand of California cool and this outfit epitomizes her signature style: wide leg jeans, a pop of color and a pair of sunglasses, mixed together to create a laidback ensemble that is totally effortless. If you like this outfit, don’t miss Kirra’s Smocked Back Pocket Layer Tank ($17.50) or Diane Von Furstenberg’s Kretya Tank ($198), paired with 7 For All Mankind’s Dojo Jeans ($154) and Nine West’s Zelotes Flat ($69.95).

#3. Pair tight, fitted wide leg jeans with a loose top for a subtly sexy look: While out and about in Los Angeles, reality star Kristin Cavallari was spotted in an unfussy yet flirty look: wide leg jeans, loose tee, a draped scarf and platform heels. The super-tight thigh on her jeans was offset by the loose-fitting tee, creating a look that can easily move from day to night. To recreate Kristin’s look, mix LNA’s Loose Cropped Tee ($69) with Paige Denim’s Laurel Canyon Flare Jeans ($189) and Yves Saint Laurent’s Platform Sandals ($790).

#4. Try out a glam 1970s look with a wide leather belt and sky-high wedges: Actress Eva Mendes is known for her glamorous style, both on and off the red carpet, so we weren’t surprised to see her taking on the wide leg jean with zeal. Her wide leather belt and sky-high platform wedges give the look a vampy 70s feel, which is the perfect look for a lady as gorgeous as Eva. If you’re ready to try this look, grab True Religion’s Joey Flare Stretch Jeans ($196) and pair them with Thistlepearl’s Shimmer Peassant Blouse ($58) and Rugby’s Skull Heritage Crest Belt ($49.99).

#5: Bring your wide leg jean into the now with messy rocker-chic hair and dark sunglasses: As one of the world’s leading trendsetters, Kate Moss’s foray into the world of wide leg jeans hasn’t gone unnoticed. Back in 2008, Kate was spotted at LAX airport in a pair of J Brand’s Lovestory Jeans ($179). True to her usual rocker-meets-hippie aesthetic, she paired them with messy bed-head hair, Ray-Ban Wayfarers ($119) and Minnetonka Moccasin Boots ($109.91). To give the outfit an effortless element, throw on a cropped blazer like Minkpink’s Ring Master Cropped Blazer ($48.97).

#6. Add to your 1970s bohemian look with a vintage-inspired kimono jacket: Leave it to Nicole Richie to perfect the 1970s-inspired wide leg jean by pairing it with a hippie-luxe kimono jacket and silk tank; only Nicole could work the bohemian look to excess and make it look effortless. For a similarly stylish ensemble, we recommend Beyond The Valley’s Mountain View Silk Kimono Jacket ($338.18) or Nicole’s own line, Winter Kate: both the Eden Paisley Kimono Jacket ($225) and Purple Eden Psychedelic Kimono Top ($359.70) are perfect. Pair them with Shyde’s Silk Tank ($132) and Burberry’s Flare Leg Jeans ($225) for a bohemian look Nicole would be proud of.

As longtime fans of perennial fashionista Nicole Richie, we were beyond thrilled when she revealed her plans for a contemporary clothing line. Making its debut back in February, Winter Kate was everything we hoped it would be and more. Brimming with 1970s bohemian influences and a heavy dose of Nicole’s laidback, Californian vibe, it quickly became one of the most accessible spring collections of 2010.

Of course, our feelings for the Winter Kate line are only amplified by Nicole’s clear passion for it; unlike many celebrity designers, Nicole is often seen out and about in her own designs. With that in mind, we decided to take an in-depth look at how Nicole styles her favorite Winter Kate pieces. After all, who better than the designer herself?! Read on!

#1. Spotted out and about in Los Angeles earlier this year, Nicole looked stylishly sweet in the Camelia Sleeveless Full Length Dress ($195). We love how she offset her bohemian, 1970s-inspired dress with a colorful, contemporary Balenciaga bag; this outfit is the perfect combination of hippie style and modern panache. For a similar look, we suggest pairing the Camelia Dress with Gap’s Braided Leather T-Strap Sandals ($34.50) and Ray-Ban’s Aviator Sunglasses ($139). While Balenciaga’s Arena First Classic ($1,195) is closer to the real thing, Lucky Brand’s Stash Shoulder Bag ($168) is a little more budget-friendly.

#2. While Nicole is often lauded for her soft bohemian style, her flair for adding a rocker-chic edge shouldn’t be missed. For an early stop on the Winter Kate promotional tour, Nicole softened her Leather Dylan Vest ($1,375) and ripped denim shorts with a white button-down blouse and hippie-esque locks. If you like this outfit, don’t miss See By Chloe’s Cross Lace Peasant Blouse ($230), Urban Renewal’s Cutoff Denim Shorts ($28) and Joan & David Collection’s Hartman Cuff Ankle Booties ($142.30). While we love the Dylan Vest, Winter Kate’s Gypsy Rose Vest ($176) is also a great investment piece.

#3. While we didn’t know it at the time, Nicole was rocking Winter Kate as far back as her second pregnancy, pairing the Ginger Chiffon Cardigan ($145) with a black minidress and strappy heels. Our favorite part? This outfit is the perfect party look, pregnant or not. To recreate it, mix the Ginger Cardigan with Reiss’s Dita Bodycon Dress ($268.85). A pair of Nine West’s Gladiator Platform Sandals ($89) will complete the look.

#4. For another stop on the Winter Kate promotional tour, Nicole updated Look #2 by adding a felt boho hat and swapping out her blouse/vest combo with the Hudson Vest ($260) and Lily Chiffon Tunic ($185), resulting in one of her most bohemian outfits to date. If you’re ready to try this look, grab the Hudson Vest and Lily Tunic and pair them with Free People’s Janis Brimmed Hat ($68) and the Peacock Feather Enameled Locket Necklace ($120) from Nicole’s House Of Harlow 1960 line.

#5. Although Nicole’s rise up the fashion ladder has not been without plenty of red-carpet moments, it is her off-duty style that many love the most. For a day out in Los Angeles, Nicole mixed the Ivory Himalaya Jacket ($440.55) with denim cut-off shorts, a slouchy tee and black flip-flops. The look is casual yet chic and perfect for the girl-on-the-go. For a similar style, grab the Himalaya Jacket and add Martin + Osa’s Slouchy V-Neck Pocket Tee ($19.50) and the Slim Basic Flip Flop ($24) by Havaianas.

#6. For our final dose of Winter Kate style tips, we’re taking a look at how Nicole worked the Opy Jacket ($215). Sticking to her off-duty sensibilities, she paired it with skinny jeans and a slouchy tee, and then accessorized with a fringed cross-body bag and black ankle boots. To take a page out of Nicole’s book of style, pair the Opy Jacket with 7 For All Mankind’s Gwenevere Ankle Skinny Jeans ($198) and this Suede Fringe Bag ($385) by J.J. Winters. For good measure, add these Suede Brogue Detail Flat Studded Ankle Boots ($59.18) by Asos Addison.  If you like the Opy Jacket in purple, you’ll probably love it in green!

With spring in full swing, it is time to turnover your winter wardrobe and break out your favorite spring/summer essentials. For those warmer months, nothing is more effortlessly chic than a great pair of denim shorts. Whether you are a blue jean baby, or you prefer a rock & roll-inspired black pair, this look provides a little something for everyone. As usual, we have taken a few style tips from our favorite celebrity muses to show us the way forward. With that, we present our April edition of Style Tips.

STYLE TIP #1 / Wear lace-up jazz shoes and a slouchy jumper for a casual-yet-cool look: If one thing is certain about Kate Bosworth, it is that she is always true to her Californian roots, with outfits that are one-part breezy charm and one-part on-trend. To fashion your denim shorts a la Kate, we think that this Curved Hem Sweat ($36) from Topshop would look great with these Loose Rolled Shorts ($150) by Joe’s Jeans and Kimchi Blue’s Teardrop Oxfords ($48).

STYLE TIP #2 / Add a bohemian element to your look by pairing your shorts with a floral blouse and sandals: As always, Nicole Richie is faithful to her bohemian aesthetic, pairing a loose, ethnic-print tank with woven sandals and distressed denim shorts. The look is perfect for this carefree, hippie mama. We suggest grabbing Diane Von Furstenberg’s Finn Top ($225) and adding Forever21’s Destroyed Denim Shorts ($19.80) and a pair of Free People’s Folklore Sandals ($58).

STYLE TIP #3 / Give your outfit a grunge-inspired edge with DIY studs and a checkered button-down shirt: As always, Rachel Bilson keeps things young and fresh, pairing studded denim shorts with a checkered shirt and adding peep-toe flats for a hint of vintage inspiration. The result? A perfect, off-duty look that has her usual quirky-cool element. For a similar look, combine 7 For All Mankind’s Plaid Boyfriend Shirt ($94.99) with We The Free’s Boyfriend Roll Up Shorts ($70). A pair of Ralph Lauren Collection’s Haylee Open-Toe Flats ($158) will complete the look.

STYLE TIP #4 / Work the downtown vibe by adding a quirky tee, ankle boots and a streetwise attitude: Chloe Sevigny has become known over time for her “cool girl” style and this outfit is no exception. Her quirky tee gives her an edge, while the ankle boots add a hint of trend appeal. We like throwing Erin Wasson X RVCA’s Keep It Neil Tee ($54) over Urban Renewal’s Cutoff Denim Shorts ($28), then adding Pour La Victoire’s Brenda Ankle Boot ($202.12).

STYLE TIP #5 / Keep your nighttime look casual yet chic with a loose blouse and ballet flats: The lovely Bar Rafaeli knows how to work her off-duty look; she keeps things chic and down-to-earth with a breezy blouse and a pair flats that let her legs do the talking. For a similar style, we like Silence & Noise’s Rouched Sleeve Chiffon Top ($58) paired with Roxy’s Country Bumpkin Shorts ($39.50) and Jessica Simpson’s Leve Square-Toe Flats ($49.99).

STYLE TIP #6 / Dress up your shorts by adding a classic blazer and wedge heels: Our final style tip comes from Kate Moss, who we can always count on to provide us with an effortless look that oozes sex appeal without going overboard. Dallin Chase’s Duncan Blazer ($318) will start your look off perfectly, especially when paired with Current/Elliott’s Side Zip Short ($114) and Steve Madden’s Venomm Platform ($119.95).

A few months ago, my sister emailed me from Australia with a fashion question. She wanted some advice on where she could find band t-shirts. Specifically, she wanted band tees by the old-school, rock & roll masters: Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin. Fast forward a few months, I finally have the answer she was looking for in 2BHipTshirts.

There is something to be said about paying homage to your favorite band by wearing their logo emblazoned across your chest. Over the years, plenty of celebrities have been seen out and about in rock & roll tees, from Kristen Stewart to Kate Moss. British model Agyness Deyn is a longtime fan of the look and has even worn them on the red carpet. Perhaps she inspired up-and-coming Australian model Jess Hart; Jess recently shared pictures on her blog of a trip to Thailand, where she was seen in an edgy Guns & Roses t-shirt.

Given the popularity of the rock & roll tee, we thought it would be fun to see how it is being styled around the world. We have picked some famous fashionistas and some street-style stars to show you how to work the rock & roll tee.

#1. Mary Kate Olsen has always loved experimenting with fashion and no look is outside her realm of possibilities. Here, she tries an edgy, rocker look by pairing her band tee with lace-up boots and a fur-lined leather motorcycle jacket. To us, Mary Kate seems more likely to pick an obscure band over a well-known one, so we think that the Cinderella 80s Metal Night Songs 1986 Tour T-Shirt is a perfect choice for a MK-inspired look! Grab your best leather and you are good to go!

#2. Agyness Deyn’s love of music has always been obvious, none more so than when she wears one of her many, many band tshirts. Here, she works her usual pared-down, punky look by mixing her band tee with shredded skinny jeans and Converse sneakers. For an Agyness-inspired look, you should definitely go for the Ramones Presidential Seal T-Shirt and pay homage to the group long-cited as the first punk rock group. Get your best pair of distressed jeans out and tousle that hair!

#3. Lindsay Lohan’s fashion aesthetic is as unpredictable as the girl herself and she is always willing to surprise her fans. Here, she adds edge to an otherwise simple outfit by rocking a Def Leppard tee with a pair of plain black leggings and ballet flats. To get Lindsay’s look, try a tee like the Led Zeppelin US Tour 1977 T-Shirt Swan Song. For that tough-yet-chic look, keep the rest of your outfit simple; add skinny jeans or plain leggings, then throw on a pair of flats.

#4. Like any fashion-lover, Mischa Barton loves to experiment and quite often, she’ll try mixing one print with another pattern. Here, she lets her band tee fly under the radar by layering it underneath a leopard print scarf. The overall effect is subtle but totally cool. To get Mischa’s look, pick a tshirt by a band that is super-edgy, like the Guns N’ Roses Appetite for Destruction T-Shirt. Then, tone it down with your accessories and you’re all set!

Yesterday, just in time for the slew of summer music festivals on the horizon, we took a look at the festival fashion of some of our favorite celebrity style muses. Today, it is time for a more organic approach; we’re checking out festival street style and bringing you another set of survival tips for staying chic and comfortable.

#1. Our first stylish muse headed to the Coachella Festival in a breezy, fringe & lace dress. She smartly added two festival essentials – a fedora and a pair of strong boots – to her outfit, resulting in a grunge-inspired style. For a similar look, try TFNC’s Eyelash Lace Scoop Back Dress ($71.80) in nude or black. Keep your feet dance-ready by adding a pair of Free People’s Carley Lace Up Boots ($168). Finally, protect yourself from the sun by throwing on this Straw Fedora ($38) by Tarnish.

#2. As any music festival veteran knows, things can get muddy very quickly. However, thanks to the trendsetting ways of Kate Moss, rain boots have become the footwear du jour at music festivals. Our second stylish muse, pictured at Lollapalooza, didn’t let her mud-spattered rain boots get in the way of fashion, pairing them with a plaid shirt and distressed denim shorts for a look that is festival-ready. For a stylish stand-in, try Rip Curl’s Buffalo Plaid Button Down Shirt ($45.50) with these Relaxed Boyfriend Shorts ($49.50) by Blue London Jean. Finally, get in on the rain boot look with a pair of Original Hunter Wellington Rain Boots ($115) by Hunter Boots.

#3. At Chicago’s Pitchfork Festival, our final stylish muse kept her look cool and chic by combining a lace tunic with a pair of black mini dress and lace up Oxford shoes. A low-slung hobo bag holds all her festival essentials and is perfect for storing her lace tunic if things get hot. For a similar style, grab Free People’s Scandalous Lace Top ($48) and throw it over American Apparel’s Interlock Cut-Out Back Mini Dress ($42). Add these Jezebell Jazz Shoes ($100) by Steven and then throw on this Braided Strap Hobo ($58) by Deux Lux.
