New York Fashion Week officially began earlier today, which means that for plenty of fashion designers, they’ll be able to breathe again. Most of us can’t even imagine all the hard work, chaos, drama and bedlam that goes into each collection, from sketching the designs to coming up with a runway concept to putting together the invites.
If you are interested in the behind-the-scenes action that takes place in the months leading up to fashion week, Sundance Channel has a new show, Catwalk Countdown, which promises to reveal all.
Catwalk Countdown profiles ten designers – Chris Benz, Vena Cava, Erin Fetherston, Lyn Devon, Christian Cota, Cushnie et Ochs, Thread Social, Shipley & Halmos, Sachin & Babi for Ankasa and Robert Geller – in the lead up to New York Fashion Week. The show follows all the participants through their design process and provides viewers with an exclusive look at how the fall 2010 collections were created.
You can watch Catwalk Countdown on the Full Frontal Fashion website. If you haven’t watched any of Full Frontal Fashion’s previous series, don’t miss out on this one: the view that these shows provide into the fashion industry is enlightening and fascinating. Get to it!
