The first summer music festival for 2010 – California’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival – took place over the weekend. For your sartorial pleasure, plenty of stars came out to play, treating the event like their personal fashion playground and parading a bevy of chic ensembles to inspire you. Here is a look at the celebrity style of Coachella 2010:
Brazilian model Alessandra Ambrósio (far left) was spotted at Coachella wearing a hippie-esque outfit: denim cut-off shorts, a floppy felt hat, dream-catcher earrings, chunky boots, and a crochet/fringe vest layered over a tee with fringe detail.
Actress Kate Bosworth (middle and far right) attended the entire three day festival, with a chic new outfit for each day. On day one she wore Topshop’s Knitted Crochet Dress ($110) with a pair of Isabel Marant ankle boots and Mulberry’s Leah Bag. On the third day, she swapped out the crochet dress for a lace top and J Brand’s Denim Cutoff Shorts ($159) in Neptune.
Reality star/designer Whitney Port (far left and middle) also made it to all three days. On day one, Whitney wore a cropped black bustier top with a pair of loose high-waisted shorts and colorful ballet flats. On day two, Whitney went for more color, wearing a pair of neon Aztec-print hot pants with a printed tee and black sneakers.
Socialite sisters Paris and Nicky Hilton (right) were seen together at the festival. Both girls wore printed sun dresses with classic ballet flats; Paris accessorized with peacock feather earrings and a thin headband.
British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (left) showed some designer love with her Alexander Wang-inspired braid and Isabel Marant-heavy look: colorful fur vest, suede ankle booties, leather pants and a crochet top.
Reality star Kristin Cavallari (middle two) kept things casual at Coachella with two toned-down looks. On day one, she wore denim cut-offs (clearly a Coachella staple) with a draped white tee and studded Roman sandals. On day two, she tried out a pair of fringed sandals and swapped her tee for a distressed purple tank.
Actress Anne Hathaway (right) went for a vintage-inspired look at the festival. She cinched an embroidered dress at the waist with a thin leather belt, then added a black fedora and wingtip Oxford shoes in cream and red.
Actress Kate Hudson (left) went back to her hippie-fashion roots at Coachella with a lace mini skirt layered under a draped grey tank top. She added suede ankle booties and then piled on the jewelry with several chunky rings and plenty of bracelets.
Burlesque star Dita Von Teese (middle and right) didn’t let Coachella stop her from styling to perfection. On day one she wore a printed Rachel Pally wrap dress and blue espadrille sandals. On day two she mixed it up with a white Madonna-esque bra top by Jean Paul Gaultier and a pair of blue wide-leg sailor pants.
Singer Katy Perry (left) headed to the event for all three days. On day one, she kept things simple with this black cut-out bandage dress with studded detail at the waist. She accessorized with studded sandals, black nail polish and dark sunglasses.
Singer Beyonce (middle) was a surprise performer with husband Jay-Z on day one. On day two she mingled with the crowd, wearing a cropped lace top, a black leather mini skirt and a pair of black cowboy boots.
Model Daisy Lowe (right) went for a quirky ensemble that worked perfectly for her. She layered a printed bolero over a white tank, and then added denim cut-offs, bright red sneakers, a Moroccan silver chain belt, rosary beads and bright red sunglasses.
Actress Camilla Belle (left and middle) went for a simple look at Coachella. On day one, she wore an on-trend military green tunic dress with a pair of chunky brown Frye boots. On day two, she swapped out the tunic dress for a flirty floral tea dress and crochet cardigan and carried Coach’s Gracie Satchel.
Actress Lindsay Lohan (right) went for a festival-friendly look. She tried a pair of black cut-off shorts, pairing them with suede fringe cowboy boots and a cropped white tank top.
Actress Mischa Barton (left and middle) tried two very different styles at Coachella. On day one, she wore a floral top, cut-off shorts and chunky, lace-up boots, with a leopard fur coat on standby for cold weather. On day two, she mixed it up with a nautical stripe top and bright yellow lace-up flats, contrasted with a dash of red lipstick.
British TV presenter Alexa Chung (right) put together a classic festival ensemble. She paired a cream silk romper by Isabel Marant Etoile with a pair of blue espadrille sandals, then threw a military green jacket over her shoulders and accessorized with oversized sunglasses.
Actress Rachel Bilson (left) went for a low key look at the event. Rachel wore a blue leopard print tank top with Paige Denim’s Jimmy Jimmy 2 Jean Shorts ($129) and Joie sandals. She kept accessories to a minimum with just a pair of dark sunglasses.
British model Agyness Deyn (middle and right), with her newly-shaved head, went for a Camden punk aesthetic at the festival. On day one, she contrasted a flirty sun dress with lace up Doc Marten boots. On day two, she went for 90s grunge with a sleeveless band tee, a studded denim vest and a plaid shirt around the waist (hiding a pair of denim shorts).
