On Thursday, Chanel will launch their latest limited-edition makeup collection, Chanel Noir Et Or, likely sending Chanel beauty fans into a frenzy. Peter Phillips, Chanel’s global creative director (and the genius behind last year’s cult nail color, Chanel Jade,) created the Chanel Noir Et Or collection especially for Chanel’s Paris-Shanghai show in December.
Philips imagined how Coco Chanel would have perceived 1930s/1940s Shanghai, and took inspiration from that. The four-piece collection consists of three nail colors ($25 each) and an eye compact ($45), in a palette of black and gold. Illusion d’Or is a transparent, sparkling gold nail color while Gold Lamé is a satin gold color. For those who err on the darker side, Black Velvet is a matte black nail color. For the eyes there is Ligne et Ombre de Chanel in Jet Gold, matte black eyeliner paired with a sparkling gold eye shadow.
The entire Chanel Noir Et Or collection will be available on April 1 at Chanel boutiques.
