For the last year, Chanel has been releasing one hit nail color after the other; first there was Fall 2009’s Chanel Jade, a minty green polish that sold out in mere minutes and was auctioned on Ebay for over $100. The follow-up polish – Chanel Particulière – garnered a similar reaction thanks to its pale grey shade and violet tint. If history repeats itself, you can rest assured that when Chanel releases its Fall 2010 nail color – Chanel Paradoxal – it will be an instant sell-out.
Chanel Paradoxal is a fresh fall update on Particulière; it’s dark gray base has been injected with deep purple to create a swirling metallic mix that, according to Chanel, will be the “new statement maker of the season.” Interestingly, unlike Jade and Particulière, Paradoxal did not make its debut on the runway. Instead, Chanel’s creative director Peter Phillips designed the silky aubergine hue especially for his Fall 2010 makeup collection.
Chanel Paradoxal will be available at Chanel beauty counters and online at Chanel.com on August 13 – or, purchase it online now at Saks Fifth Avenue. Also hitting stores for fall: Chanel Chalys, Rose Dentelle and Chintz, three new lip colors.
