Chic Shoe Buys

There is plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks—from the Fashion’s Night Out shopping extravaganza to fashion week in New York, London, Milan, and Paris—and whatever your plans are, you are bound to need a new pair of shoes to come along for the ride! On that note, we are sure you will find something you just have to have in today’s Chic Shoe Buys story. After all, not only is it chock-full with options for everyone—no matter what your style, no matter what your budget—but, really, how can you ever say no to a new pair of shoes? Ready to shop? Read on to discover this month’s must-have shoes!

With fall just around the corner, we currently have one motto in mind when shopping for shoes: out with the old, in with the new. Take, for example, ankle boots. If you, like us, live in ankle booties during the fall/winter months, you probably have worn out your favorite pair. Happily, who can resist the allure of a brand new pair like B Brian Atwood’s Tempesta Booties ($450)? Not only will the black suede go with just about everything in your closet, but the fringe detail and embellished tassel laces will add a rocker-chic element to your outfit. Of course, if you prefer something with a flirty twist, you should also check out Senso’s Brogue Platform Heels ($219) and Faryl Robin’s Archduchess Platforms ($148). The laces give these platform heels a boot-like effect, but they have a flirty silhouette that makes them just as suitable paired with a party dress as a pair of skinny jeans.

Speaking of party dresses, as modern girls-on-the-go, you no doubt are already planning your fall social calendar, which means party heels are a must! We have been excitedly eyeing two great pairs of party heels lately: ASOS’s Pace Suede Platform High Heels ($118.92) and Topshop’s Podium Cross Over Platforms ($220). While the ASOS heels are guaranteed to inject any outfit a dose of fun color, the Topshop heels rank high on the glam meter, making it hard to choose between them. (In other words: we’ll take both!) Then again, if you prefer a wedge with your party dress, you definitely shouldn’t discount the Estrella Platform Wedges ($595) by LR x SUNO. They are definitely not for the faint of heart, but if you have plenty of poise, these wedges will add panache to any party outfit.

Of course, we know that many of you like to balance out your closet with cute flats, and you are not alone. We are currently coveting Marni’s Peep-Toe Neoprene Ballerina Flats ($196). The bright tangerine color gives these shoes an effortlessly cool vibe. However, we know that these shoes won’t go with everything in our closet, which is why we are also lusting after Rag & Bone’s Abingdon Flats ($395). The chic neutral palette means these shoes could be worn straight from the office to an after-hours cocktail party, which is all the reason we need to say yes! Happy shoe shopping!
