This might just be stating the obvious, but a girl can never have too many shoes. Ever. We need shoes for dancing, we need shoes for shopping, we need shoes for running errands, and we need shoes for the countless other occasions that pop up in life. On that note, we’d like to welcome you to our latest edition of Chic Shoe Buys. This month, we are crazy about color. After all, there is no better season than summer to flaunt bright and bold colors. We are also a little love-sick over surprising silhouettes this month—whether that means a chunky creeper, an ultra-sharp wedge, or a pair of embellished boots. With that said, it is time to jump right into our latest footwear finds! Read on!
In the final weeks of summer, we want to make the most out of the warm weather and get some extra mileage out of our sun dresses. Accordingly, a great pair of sandals is a must! This month, we are particularly enamored with Topshop’s Love Block Suede Platform Sandals ($130) and Missoni’s Rm31 Wedge Sandals ($403.18). As you can see, both pairs feature bright and bold colors. This ensures that no matter what you pair them with—whether you choose a simple jeans-and-tee combo or you opt for a hippie-luxe sun dress—you are sure to stand out from the crowd. While both these pairs are perfect for daytime events, at night you might want something a little edgier. We like Jeffrey Campbell’s Leopard Pony Foxy Platforms ($145). The silhouette is super-flattering and leopard is always—always—chic! Of course, we all have days when a pair of flats is necessary. Happily, there are plenty of options for those occasions, but our favorite has to be Alaïa’s Metallic Leather Gladiator Flats ($654.50). We love the gladiator silhouette and the gold finish, but most importantly, we love that these will suit just about any ensemble we put together.
Of course, while we are relishing the warm summer weather, we do like to look ahead to fall. This season, creepers are set to be a major trend thanks to stars like Rihanna and labels like Prada. If you want to get in early, make sure you check out ASOS’s Monroe Platform Creeper Shoe ($163.77). We love the way the bubblegum-pink exterior gives the shoe a playful and feminine twist! While a creeper is definitely a statement shoe, you may also need something a little more practical like a pair of boots. On that note, we suggest you check out Jeffrey Campbell’s Tain Tassel Boots ($198). The flat sole makes them practical, while the moccasin-style embellishments give them plenty of panache! Finally, if you want to really plan ahead, you can start considering party season—one of the best things about the fall season! While open-toe sandals may work in some climates, a pair of closed-toe heels is your best bet. To start, you simply can’t look past Rachel Zoe’s Eva Wedges ($395). The chunky silhouette will give you plenty of height, plus they work with both wide-leg jeans and maxi dresses alike. We also love Giuseppe Zanotti’s Suede Wedge Pumps ($650). The electric blue fabric is colorful enough to make a statement, but subdued enough that it won’t steal focus when paired with an amazing party dress! Happy shopping!
