It is a fact: things move fast in the world of fashion. Last month, designer Yigal Azrouël announced the launch of a lower-priced, younger capsule collection titled Cut 25. This week, the Fall 2010 lookbook images were released and stockists such as Intermix started selling pieces from the collection. It makes sense that things are moving fast for Cut 25; while Azrouël’s eponymous line focuses on his expert draping skills and ultra-feminine designs, Cut 25 has a rock & roll vibe. “This is, for me, more young and hip – a downtown kind of girl,” Azrouël told WWD last month.
The Fall 2010 lookbook reveals a sexy, rough-around-the-edges collection. Body-con dresses come in a selection of styles, from one-shouldered iterations to glam sequined versions. Outerwear includes leather bomber jackets, boxy cape coats and draped jackets. Pants and leggings are seen in leather, soft cotton knits and black sequins. All in all, Cut 25 is the perfect way to take your first step into the world of Yigal Azrouël.
For now, Cut 25 will be sold at Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman and Intermix, with plans for a dedicated Cut 25 store in the future. The collection is priced between $100 and $750.
