Designers Reinvent The LBD For Charity

At Mama’s A Rolling Stone, we can find a reason for almost anything in our closet, but there is one piece we never have to justify: the little black dress. Classic, timeless, and always chic, it is a wardrobe essential, which means, in turn, that you can never have too many LBD options. Enter: the 22 Ways To Say Black project, conceived by Swarovski Elements, the American Cancer Society, Philips de Pury and 22 of the world’s most celebrated designers. For the 22 Ways To Say Black project, designers were asked to custom design a little black dress and embellish it with Swarovski Elements crystals. As you can see, the results are as diverse and as captivating as the designers themselves, and each one has a signature twist—for example, Missoni’s iteration features the label’s signature zig-zag print, while Diane von Furstenberg’s creation has her trademark wrap silhouette.

Now, the fun part: The dresses will be auctioned at Philips de Pury on September 20, with 100% of the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society and La Ligue Contre le Cancer in France. For more info and images, check out the Swarovski Elements Facebook page.
