Naomi Campbell’s Fashion For Relief show took place on Friday night, with plenty of stars turning out to support earthquake-ravaged Haiti and, in particular, expectant mothers in the region through the CARE organization.
Several stars took a turn on the catwalk as part of the show. Fashion designers Donna Karan and Diane Von Furstenberg both wowed the crowd, as did celebrities like Estelle, Kelly Osbourne, Margherita Missoni and Chris Brown. Several seasoned models also walked the show, including Naomi, Karen Elson, Helena Christensen, Irina Lazareanu and Agyness Deyn. Agyness Deyn took two unfortunate spills in a row but laughed them both off.
Naomi added a touching tribute to her friend, Alexander McQueen, towards the end of the show; a troupe of models gathered at the end of the runway in honor of the late designer, including Daphne Guinness in a glittery, full-length bodysuit from McQueen’s spring collection.
All in all, it seems the event was a success. Ticket sales raised $100,000 for the cause, while American Express donated an additional $250,000. All the clothes worn on the runway will be auctioned off on Net-A-Porter.com, with sales expected to bring the total donations to over $1 million.
