Fashion Insider: Gaia Repossi

One of the things we love most about the fashion world is that it is so vast—there is always a new trend, a new store, or a new style worth covering. That also extends to our daily features, which is why we are so excited about today’s Fashion Insider story! Today, we are thrilled to have the chance to explore the personal style of Gaia Repossi, the artistic director at Italian jewelry house Maison Repossi. After all, not only does Gaia always look amazing, but she has an eclectic style that always turns heads! So, if you are ready for some major outfit inspiration, click through for today’s Fashion Insider story and be sure to take notes!

1. Maxi dresses have been having a moment lately, but Gaia was one step ahead when she wore an embellished maxi to a gala in Paris back in January. As always, Gaia made this look distinctly her own by accessorizing it to the hilt with layers of necklaces, a vintage-inspired belt, and a cute clutch. The result is an outfit that is fashion-forward enough for the fashion crowd, but personal enough that you won’t find another in the room. To take notes from Gaia, pick up Theyskens’ Theory’s Doner Fishu Dress ($825) or Elizabeth & James’ Camara Maxi Dress ($485) and pair it with Free People’s Mojave Hip Belt ($58). Then, add a selection of necklaces, each one of a different length.

2. There are many ways to style leather, but we are particularly partial to the outfit Gaia wore to the 7th Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund awards last year. By pairing her leather skirt with a bright orange top, she instantly added a casual element into the mix, which in turn toned down the edginess of the skirt. Smart accessory choices—specifically, a mini satchel and two oversized gold cuff bracelets—gave the outfit a personal twist. You can make this look your own by pairing Just Female’s Colorblock Top ($118.92) with River Island’s Pocket Front Leather Mini Skirt ($91.48). Then, simply accessorize with ASOS’s Boxy Lock Bag ($45.74) and Lucky Brand’s Metal Lace Cuffs ($39.99).

3. We are always excited to see how our favorite fashion insiders style a little black dress and Gaia is no exception. At a launch party back in 2009, Gaia wore a strapless, figure-hugging dress, which she paired with sequined pumps and statement jewelry. Although all Gaia’s pieces stick to a single color—black—she has ensured her outfit will stand out in a sea of LBDs by picking pieces with interesting textures. Inspired? Create your own stylishly simple ensemble by picking up Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent’s Strapless Equinox Party Dress ($275) or Camilla & Marc’s Tias Lilly Twill Dress ($240) and pairing it with Dolce & Gabbana’s Leather & Sequin Glitter Pumps ($575). Finish the look with Ruby Kats’s Melange Cocktail Ring ($155).

4. Like everything else, Gaia can pull off a party look with plenty of aplomb—just look at the ensemble she put together for a party in New York last year. It checks all the right boxes. A short, sexy silhouette? Check! A glamorous twist? Check, thanks to the sequins! Carefree hair? Check! The real reason it meets the criteria, though, is because Gaia has added pieces that stay true to her edgy style: a satchel, ankle boots, a long pendant. For a similarly chic party look, pick up Alice + Olivia’s Sequined Stretch-Mesh Dress ($600) or Adrianna Papell’s Sequin Shift Dress ($258) and pair it with Sam Edelman’s Uma Suede Platform Booties ($250) and black tights.
