• Balmain are quietly testing an apparel line in China titled Blue Label. The collection is priced at around 40-50% less than the top line. [WWD]

• Banana Republic has launched the Luxe Leisure capsule collection, a 40-piece resort range that includes swimwear and beach-worthy apparel. The collection will be sold year round and will appear in stores in March. [WWD]

• Bebe will launch an accessories line this fall after signing a three-year licensing agreement with Accessory Network Group to design and manufacture handbags and small leather goods. [WWD]

• Perry Ellis International will launch a line of children’s wear after signing a license for its Perry Ellis brand with Fishman & Tobin, Inc. [WWD]

• The CFDA have organized a nationwide effort to raise funds for earthquake-stricken Haiti. A “Fashion For Haiti” t-shirt has been designed with all proceeds going to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. The t-shirt will go on sale at retailers on February 12, as well as online at cfda.com, for $25. [WWD]

• Twelve CFDA members have designed accessories for Mattel’s new Barbie Basics doll, which wears a little black dress and can be personalized with scarves, purses, shoes or jewelry. The designers include Rachel Roy and Isaac Mizrahi. [WWD]

• World Threads Inc. is set to launch an exclusive line of daywear and underwear this week. The collection has been titled Bluebird by Eberjey and will launch at Ann Taylor stores and AnnTaylor.com. [WWD]
