Dutch model Lara Stone has posed nude for Issue 3 of Love Magazine, the bi-annual fashion magazine edited by Katie Grand. Lara was photographed by fashion photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott of Mert & Marcus.
Love Magazine released this preview picture (left), which may turn out to be a teaser of the actual cover. Speculation on the internet suggests that there may be more than one cover, with potentially more than one cover model. Lara is the second star to grace the cover of Love Magazine in the nude – singer Beth Ditto posed for Issue 1, also in her birthday suit.
The cover caps off an interesting year for Stone. Just recently, Lara was photographed by famed fashion photographer Mario Testino for British Vogue. Dubbed by the magazine as “Girl of the Year,” Lara revealed in an interview that she had spent some time in rehab: “I am a complete alcoholic. It used to be so easy to say to someone, ‘Get me a bottle of vodka,’ and they’d run and get it. Going to rehab was the best decision I ever made. The last six months have been the best of my life.”
More recently, Lara was handpicked by Marc Jacobs to replace Madonna as the face of Louis Vuitton. Anoine Arnualt, the communications director at Louis Vuitton, said: “After two seasons with such a huge star, Marc [Jacobs] decided to take a breather and work with a model – and not just any model. It’s the choice of a new supermodel.”
