Plenty of rumors abound about Vanessa Traina and her sister, Victoria, and their fashion sensibilities, such as using Birkins as school bags. But to use an old cliché, money cannot buy style. Some people are just born with it.
Vanessa Traina is one of those girls. I first stumbled across her in pictures of Nicole Richie and Kirsten Dunst and suddenly, I found myself scouring The Fashion Spot forums looking for more. Vanessa had more of a bohemian edge to her but in (very) recent years has erred on the “rock chic” side of things, often one day behind the Olsens.
To get her look, invest in skinny jeans, floaty skirts and moccasin boots, to start. Then grow your collection of simple tees and tanks in neutral colors. Finally, save your dollars and get a couple of fantastic bags (Chloe snakeskin, Balenciaga motorcycle). Braid your hair, get a pair of aviators, wear minimal makeup and make sure you are seen at Bryant Park twice a year when New York Fashion Week is on. And don’t forget, friends in fashionable circles.
