As we reported yesterday, Gucci designer Frida Giannini has designed the costumes for Florence Welch, the frontwoman for Florence + The Machine, to wear on her summer tour. “When Florence first came onto the scene, I was captivated by her eccentric style and her willingness to dare,” said Giannini in a press release. “I felt there was such an authentic energy to her sound and her look.”
Florence is known for her daring stage looks and is often taking to the stage in vintage dresses. This summer, things will be different. Expect plenty of color and plenty of movement. As you can see from the sketches, the dresses have a 1970s vibe. There is a sheer gown with a pussybow at the neck and a swirling gown embellished with flowers at the neck and a thigh-high slit. Florence will debut the first look today at the Bonnaroo Festival in Tennessee. Tell us: are you excited to see the rest of the tour wardrobe?
