Earlier this week, Cuban designer Isabel Toledo and the team at Payless ShoeSource revealed a handful of watercolor sketches, a preview of Toledo’s upcoming collaboration with the chain. Due out in September, the collection was described by the designer as “pure Toledo – playful, bold and strong,” with a focus on function: “I’m a walker. I wanted to address that.”
The nine-piece collection – characterized by Toledo as modern, sophisticated and chic – consists of seven shoe styles and two bags. The shoes are all vegan and “mostly black,” with varying heel heights including flats, medium-height and tall heels. With names like the “Poodle Boot” and the “Film Noir Bootie” offering a hint of what is to come, you have until September to work your imagination into frenzy.
