When women around the world hear the words “Jimmy Choo,” sneakers are probably the last thing that comes to mind. After all, Tamara Mellon and her team have made a fortune on selling killer heels and luxury handbags to the modern-day woman – women who probably wouldn’t be caught dead in sneakers.
This is all about to change. The first Jimmy Choo Sneaker Collection was announced back in January and is due to hit stores any day. Don’t be fooled, however. While it might seem like Jimmy Choo are taking a new, low-key approach to the world of footwear, this isn’t the case. Each sneaker is set to retail between $495 and $595, making them as affordable and accessible as Jimmy Choo pumps.
If you can afford to take the leap, the collection is comprised of two styles: the Tokyo high top and the Miami low top. Each sneaker features patent leather, matte metallic leather or snakeskin, and is finished with a star detail on the sole. With a fairly neutral color palette – think blues, blacks, browns and whites – these sneakers are perfect for the woman who wants to branch out into sneaker territory.
