Since graduating from London’s Central St Martins, Canadian-born knitwear designer Mark Fast has garnered plenty of well-earned attention for his overtly sexy designs and controversial runway shows. Next week, Mark will debut his highly-anticipated first collection for Topshop, a dangerously sexy five-piece knitwear collection that doesn’t stray far from the aesthetics of Mark’s mainline label.
Once again taking inspiration from the “sleek exotic birds” that inspired his Spring 2009 mainline collection, the first Mark Fast For Topshop collection features an abundance of Mark’s trademark intricate knits and slinky skin-revealing panels. Stand out pieces include a subtly sexy body-conscious dress that is heavily embellished with matte rubberized beads, and a hip-hugging bandage skirt in a understated pale pink knit.
The entire Mark Fast For Topshop collection will hit Topshop stores and Topshop.com on June 25; prices range from £80 to £150 (approximately US $120 – $220 at current exchange).
