It is hard, right now, to imagine the fashion world without fabulous designer collaborations, like the latest one to shake up the industry: Marni’s partnership with Current/Elliot on a fashion-forward denim line that is set to hit stores in June.
It isn’t the likeliest of partnerships, which is perhaps what makes it most appealing. Marni is based in Milan and caters to a bohemian-luxe crowd of colorful, quirky girls; Current/Elliot has its roots in Los Angeles and outfits cool Californian girls. Nevertheless, the meeting of these two minds has resulted in an on-trend, laidback line of denim that is ideal for all girls.
For Marni x Current/Elliot, expect a quirky spin on vintage denim. Classic boyfriend jeans are given a sweater-fabric waistband while dark washes feature a whimsical polka-dot print across the cuff. Swatches of dark black fabric are plastered over the legs of another pair. All in all, this is a collection you haven’t seen elsewhere.
Priced between $182 and $509, the capsule collection will be available in June at Marni stores and select retailers, including Barneys, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.
