As we mentioned earlier today, iconic 1970s footwear designer Terry De Havilland is launching his first ready-to-wear collection after years of creating bespoke shoes for stylish starlets. With A-list customers like Bianca Jagger, Elton John, Kate Moss and Sienna Miller all turning to De Havilland for custom-made couture, it was the natural next step for the legendary cobbler.
Back in the day, De Havilland was known for his tiered wedges and platform shoes. Inspired by the decade that made him famous – the 1970s – De Havilland plans to include plenty of his signature styles in the new collection, from the metallic details to the psychedelic colors and snakeskin finishes. The Margaux Wedge – a metallic leather wedge with Swarovski crystal details – is set to make a comeback, as is the Emma Ankle Boot and the Gemma Lace Up Boot.
The Terry De Havilland ready-to-wear collection will available at selected stores across the UK and online in May. The shoes will retail between £150 and £280 ($230 – $430, approximately).
