We’re back today with another round of backstage beauty reports for your inspection. The weekend—days three and four of New York Fashion Week—saw some amazing beauty looks from brands such as Charlotte Ronson (above), Diane von Furstenberg, and Tommy Hilfiger. Happily, we have all the need-to-know details on their beauty looks, the inspiration behind them, and how you can achieve them! For further details, read on!
Sephora Pro Beauty’s Gilbert Soliz was at Charlotte Ronson on Saturday, ready to create a look that would go hand in hand with the grunge-meets-hippie vibe—think: glowing skin, smoky eyes with a touch of burgundy, and a natural lip.
On the eyes, Soliz used Sephora Collection Nano Lip Pencil in Beau Bordeaux on each lid and then blended it out with his finger. Then, he used black and brown eye pencils to dot the lash lines, creating an easygoing, unfussy look. To finish, Soliz used black mascara.
On the face, Soliz used NARS Sheer Glow Foundation to keep the skin dewy. Then, he used a small amount of Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat to highlight the under-eye area.
On the lips, Soliz used Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer to create a natural look.
Diane von Furstenberg
MAC’s James Kaliardos was at Diane von Furstenberg on Sunday, ready to create a look that would enhance the looks in her American Legends-inspired collection. Using such icons as Diane Vreeland and Gloria Vanerbilt for inspiration, Kaliardos opted for a natural face, smoky eyes and a bold red lip.
On the eyes, Kaliardos used MAC Eye Shadow in Keep Your Cool, a soon-to-be-released shade of metallic gray. He applied the eye shadow wet on the outer corner of each eye and then finished with lashings of black mascara.
On the lips, Kaliardos used MAC Lipstick in Runaway Red, another soon-to-be-released shade, as well as lip liner.
MAC’s Diane Kendal was on hand on Sunday at Tommy Hilfiger. Her look? A classic all-American girl. “Makeup is kept very clean and simple,” said Kendal.
On the eyes, Kendal used the No. 239 brush to apply the Groundwork Paintpot to both eyelids, the crease of the eye, and underneath the eye. Then, Kendal applied MAC’s Copper Gloss to each eyelid, followed by a touch of Lip Glass in Clear on the top of each eyelid (using the No. 242 brush). To finish, simply curl the lashes.
On the face, Kendal applied a layer of MAC’s Studio Moisture Fix for moisture, followed by a layer of MAC’s Studio Finish Concealer (using the No. 195 brush). To finish, Kendal used MAC’s Blot Powder and MAC’s Perfect Cheek Powder.
On the lips, Kendal used a light layer of MAC’s Lip Conditioner.
