For Spring 2011, designer Peter Som was inspired by a slew of sources: the beach, Peggy Guggenheim, and op art, to name a few. The result? A bright collection of exotic minidresses and cool, 60s-inspired colors. As for the beauty: “We took the iconic ’60s eyeliner but made it fresh by doing it in yellow instead of classic black,” said lead makeup artist Tom Pecheux. For further details, read on!
Lead makeup artist Tom Pecheux started the look with MAC’s Mineralize Skin Finish (to sculpt the face) and MAC’s Face & Body Foundation (to even the skin tone.) For the eyes, he mixed MAC Pro Acrylic Paint with MAC Pro Chromaline in Primary Yellow and applied them in a thick line across the lids. (Notably, Pecheux avoided mascara so as not to compete with the yellow eyeliner.) As for the lips, Pecheux used MAC’s So Vein Kissable Lipcolor to create a natural shine.
