A shroud of secrecy surrounded Rodarte’s spring beauty look this year; the Mulleavy sisters reportedly banned all pre-show press from the backstage area. Nevertheless, details have emerged! To round out the collection, which was inspired by the landscape of Northern California, the Mulleavy sisters opted for natural makeup and “organic” hair—think messy strands, leaf barrettes, and gold lips. For further details, read on!

The Makeup
Lead makeup artist James Kaliardos applied MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation and MAC Prep & Prime Transparent Finishing Powder on the face for a pale finish. On the cheekbones, Kaliardos used MAC Quarry Eye Shadow and MAC Pearl Cream Color Base. On the eyes, he used MAC Blend NC42 Select Cover-Up Concealer and MAC Draw No Kick Eye Kohl, followed by MAC 36 Lash with Gold Lemon Pigment. He finished the look by using MAC Pro Lip Erase in Dim onto the lips, followed by a layer of MAC Pro Rose Gold Metal Pigment and MAC Golden Lemon Pigment.

The Hair
Lead hairstylist Odile Gilbert prepared damp hair with Aveda Brilliant Damage Control and then blow dried it straight with a Mason Pearson brush. She created a strong part, and then sprayed Aveda Air Control Hair Spray liberally for shine and hold. Finally, using her fingers, she tousled hair and set it with Aveda Volumizing Tunic, secured it with a barrette, and then set it with Aveda Air Control Hair Spray.
