Daily fashion newspaper Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) is turning 100 this year—that’s 100 years of breaking news, industry scoops, designer reports and major fashion buzz! To celebrate, the go-to destination has teamed up with Gilt.com on the Designers for WWD@100 project. Eleven of fashion’s rising stars—ADAM, Alexandre Birman, Dana Lorenz for Fenton/Fallon, Doo.Ri, Jason Wu, Kimberly Ovitz, Lyn Devon, Marchesa, Prabal Gurung, Proenza Schouler and Thakoon—were asked to recreate iconic looks from the last century, and these limited edition re-imagined pieces will be available in an exclusive sale on Gilt.com running September 15 – 17. Pieces in the Designers for WWD@100 collection include Dana Lorenz’s take on the pearl/flapper bracelets of the 1920s, Thakoon’s take on Bruce Springsteen-inspired denim, and Proenza Schouler’s tribute to the iconic schoolgirl look.
