My experience with luxury goods is pretty limited. In fact, it is confined to browsing the racks at large department stores with an ‘I know I don’t belong here’ look on my face. Recently, however, I was lucky enough to lay my hands on a sample of the Syringa Bag by The Divine Tribe.
The Divine Tribe is run by Elison Pickett and Chad Ypon, a New York-based husband-and-wife team. All their products are hand-crafted and are made from premium materials such as lamb, eel, ostrich, snake and more. Their bags range in price from $120-$1,300. Celebrity fans include Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz and Nicole Richie.
The Syringa Bag is an oversized hobo bag made of some of the most soft, luxurious fabrics you can imagine. It is really roomy and is quite heavy. There are several smaller pockets, inside and outside. Ideally, this bag could be your go-to, moving from your everyday life to a weekend travel bag.
The Syringa Bag that we received as made of bamboo woven lamb and was a contrast of cream and dark brown. The drawstring is made of hand-braided fabric and there are antique brass flower rivets on either side, unique to The Divine Tribe. It almost breaks our heart to send the sample back but, even to hold it for a minute should satisfy the luxury craving for a while.
