Once again, fashionable New Yorkers are getting a jump on the rest of the world thanks to Target. On July 25, the retailer will open a new store in East Harlem. As part of the opening celebrations, Target has collaborated with a series of designers on limited edition collection. Isabel and Ruben Toledo have teamed up on an affordable swimwear line, designer Stephen Burrows is launching an apparel collection and Marcus Samuelsson is introducing a home collection.
Isabel and Ruben Toledo’s contribution (pictured) – a colorful lineup of printed bikinis, texture-heavy one-pieces and low-key tees and dresses – is a budget-friendly way to inject your summer wardrobe with color. Prices range from $3.99 to $34.99 – a great start – and 5% of the purchase cost will also be donated to a Harlem non-profit such as El Museo del Barrio or The Fund for Public Schools.
Once again, the collections debut on July 25 at Target’s new East Harlem store (East River Plaza, E 116 St (at FDR Drive)). If you’re not in the New York area, you will be able to find these limited edition collections in select stores and on Target.com on August 1.
