It Girl: Olivia Munn

While we love a woman with brains and beauty here at Mama’s A Rolling Stone—and let’s face it, Daily Show correspondent Olivia Munn has both—we really are only focused on one thing: fashion, fashion, fashion! Happily, Olivia doesn’t come up short in the style department either! In fact, we think she is consistently one of the best dressed women around, whether she is attending a red carpet event or just out and about in New York. On that note, we decided to explore the finer points of Olivia’s style in today’s It Girl story! So, if you love Olivia’s style as much as we do, make sure you read on for all the need-to-know details!

1. Sometimes, the best outfits are lessons in mixing and matching—whether you blend opposing colors, contrasting prints, or different styles. Accordingly, we love the outfit Olivia wore to the opening of Marquee Nightclub in Las Vegas back in December. By pairing a lace Urban Outfitters blouse with a leather Alexander McQueen skirt, Olivia put together a perfect high/low combo. Plus, her leather skirt gives her flirty blouse a tough twist! If you are inspired by this look, pick up Reformed by The Reformation’s Anne Top ($69) and tuck it into Rachel Roy’s Mixed Media Leather Pencil Skirt ($395). To finish, add ASOS’s Fantasy Leather Leopard Belt ($21.52).

2. We believe that every outfit you create should have a trait that resembles your personality, which is why we love the colorful ensemble that Olivia wore to Us Weekly’s 25 Most Stylish New Yorkers event back in September—it is the perfect match for Olivia’s colorful personality! The printed blouse breathes life into the flared skirt, resulting in a flirty and feminine outfit that feels really fresh! To compose a similarly lively outfit, pick up Nanette Lepore’s Boss-zilla Blouse ($298) and pair it with Topshop’s Indigo Paper Bag Denim Skirt ($70). Complete the look with ASOS’s Pump It Up Suede Platform Court Shoes ($98.62).

3. Olivia is often spotted out and about on the streets of New York City and, on these frequent occasions, she always looks stylish. In fact, just last week, Olivia was spotted hailing a cab in the East Village wearing skinny leather pants, a slouchy tee, and peep-toed platforms. This look is perfect for the modern girl-on-the-go. It is subtly sexy, the leather pants give it a little edge, and yet it is just casual enough for a shopping date or lunch with the girls. Try creating an equally of-the-moment look by pairing Soft Joie’s Five Stripe Sandra Top ($88) with Blue London Jean’s VS Kiss Capri Pants ($248) or IRO’s Marwen Leather Pants ($795).

4. Naturally, we love a little black dress here at Mama’s A Rolling Stone, but we equally adore a little printed dress, so we were thrilled to see the outfit Olivia put together for NBC’s TCA All-Star party back in January. Her printed mini is perfect for many reasons. Not only does it offer a pop of color, but it is also super-flattering! Plus, although it shows off Olivia’s to-die-for legs, it doesn’t expose too much skin, which is definitely a rule of thumb when wearing a mini! You can compose a similarly modern look by grabbing Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent’s Sleeveless Print Dress ($326) and Aldo’s Cape Coral Pumps ($80).
