It seems that our penchant for the progeny of rock & roll stars continues this month. Zoe Kravitz, the daughter of musician Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet, is our pick for January’s edition of It Girl.
Zoe was recently listed by Vanity Fair as “one to watch for” in 2010 and, given Zoe’s double-threat status as both a singer and actress, we can’t help but agree that 2010 may just be her year. We have to admit, however, that we were watching Zoe long before 2010, thanks to her fabulous fashion sense.
It is no surprise that Zoe’s style is a sound mix of rocker-chic and boho, most likely cribbed from the aesthetics of her parents. From her heavy biker boots to floral dresses, her style is destined to keep her in the spotlight for a long time. With that, we present some of our favorite looks.
#1. Here, our It Girl heads out on the town in a relaxed, boho look. Her plain tank and denim skirt are offset with a touch of floral on the skirt pockets, adding flare to the outfit. For a stylish take on Zoe’s outfit, pair American Retro’s Denim Mini Skirt ($30.59) with a plain white tank. Add a layer of silver jewelry and then finish off the look with these Zoe Pointy Toe Flats ($79) by Cindy Says.
#2. Heading to a launch party in New York City, Zoe chose a feminine dress and then toughened it up with a pair of heavy-duty biker boots. Her long, loose locks keep the outfit feeling flirty. For a similar style, try this Vintage Lace Cut Out Sleeve Dress ($47.59) from Asos paired with Dolce Vita’s Josey Zipper Boot ($358). As you walk out the door, grab this Chain Strap Bag ($49) from Spiegel.
#3. As she is wont to do, Zoe shifted her hippie-esque look into high gear for this outfit, wearing a pair of slouchy boots and a Penny Lane-inspired coat. For a similar look, we love this Faux Shearling Coat ($99.99) from Victoria’s Secret, thrown over a white lace mini dress. Finish off the look by adding these Zappatos Booties ($44.10) by Blowfish and Topshop’s Rib Beanie Hat ($16).
#4. One of the items that Zoe just can’t get enough of is the headband, whatever form it takes. This effortless ensemble combines a silver headband with a floaty dress and a pair of Mary Janes. Classique’s Off The Shoulder Print Dress ($58) starts the look off nicely, especially when paired with these Patent Mary Jane Costume Heels ($37.99) from Kohls. Deepa Gurnani’s Circle Bead Headband ($28) will complete the look.
#5. Another fresh take on her favorite hippie-luxe look, here Zoe pairs a white mini dress with a red satin headband and strappy sandals for a look that instantly upped her status in the style stakes. For a similar look, try this Tilly V-Neck Mini Dress ($167) by Twenty8Twelve. Add this pair of Strappy Platform Sandals ($24.80) from Forever21 and then finish it off with Eugenia Kim’s Miki Headband ($62.89).
