With creative director Jenna Lyons at the helm, it sometimes seems that J Crew can do no wrong. Proof? Look no further than the retailer’s Summer 2010 swimwear collection. The range encompasses a wide range of styles; from beach cover-ups to one-pieces, luxe bikini separates to board shorts, there is a little something for every swim silhouette.
Similarly, the collection has plenty of sub-categories to fulfill all personalities; the Heritage Solids catalog has a wide range of colors, from sunny yellow through burnt sienna through cornflower blue, while the Patterns & Prints catalog is comprised of nautical stripes and spots, summer-ready florals and hippie-esque paisley. Prices for the swimwear range from $38 for a bikini brief to $125 for a floral one-piece. Cover-ups start at $29.50 for chambray shorts and go through to $200 for a printed maxi dress.
On a side note, J Crew has teamed up with artist/designer Angela Adams on a series of brightly-colored beach totes. Inspired by her love of summer and the ocean, the bags are made from well-traveled, recycled boat sails. The three-piece collection is water-resistant, super durable and yet totally stylish. The totes are white with a splash of color; choose between nautical blue, tangerine and bright yellow. The totes retail for $198 and are available at JCrew.com.
