Jessica Chastain’s star has definitely been on the rise in the last few years and in W magazine’s January 2013 issue she discusses her craft, telling how she knew she was right for The Tree of Life: “I can’t say why, exactly. Back then, I hadn’t been getting any auditions for films, so I was doing guest spots on TV shows, and, for some reason, on those shows I got raped a lot. I was always cast as the victim. When I heard about The Tree of Life, I felt like I belonged in that world.” She also discusses trusting fellow artists: “I love the feeling of giving myself over to another strong point of view. It’s the best kind of trust—the belief that an artist will take care of me while creating something unique.” For more sound bites from Jessica, you’ll need to pick up the issue when it arrives on newsstands or head to WMagazine.com.
