In October, actress Kate Bosworth and her pal, celebrity stylist Cher Coulter, launched JewelMint, a monthly jewelry club and an innovative new way to get your regular jewelry fix. Of course, here at Mama’s A Rolling Stone, we were intrigued so, now that we have had a few months to try it out, we are ready to report back. The concept is pretty simple. Upon sign up, you will take a short quiz that determines your “style” personality. Then, each month, you’ll receive an email with personalized jewelry recommendations based on the results of your style quiz. Every piece of jewelry has been designed by Bosworth and Coulter—from statement earrings to chunky cuff bracelets.
This is where it gets interesting. The idea is that you pay a monthly subscription fee of $29.99. In return for this fee, you are allowed one “credit” per month that can be used towards a piece of JewelMint jewelry. Of course, if you love all your monthly selections, you can buy them all—for just $29.99 a pop! The good news is, if you’re not feeling your selections that month, you can either search for more ideas or skip that month—and skip your monthly fee. So, essentially, it’s obligation-free.
There is one more thing to note: JewelMint is designed to be a social tool. You can share all your potential jewelry purchases with pals via Facebook and Twitter. Plus, if you invite your friends to join, you’ll get one free credit for every member that signs up and makes a purchase.
Our thoughts? JewelMint is a hassle-free way to treat yourself every month. The personalized selections were spot on, which is refreshing. Plus, we love the way you can look for more ideas—you’re not obliged to stick with the four selections that they send you. All in all, we won’t be buying every month, but it’s nice to have a tailored jewelry selection on standby! Plus, shipping is free! Sign up at JewelMint.com.
