LA-based, Japanese-inspired lifestyle brand Tokidoki has immortalized fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld as a limited edition, mini figurine. Lagerfeld’s 10″-tall likeness is dressed from head to toe in K Karl Lagerfeld and embellished with rhinestones. “I am very flattered that I became a Tokidoki. I always loved them and I am very happy to be one of them,” says Lagerfeld.
Tokidoki, which means “sometimes” in Japanese, was launched in 2005 by Italian artist Simone Legno. Legno’s designs are influenced by his deep love and affection for Japan and its culture. Tokidoki produces apparel, footwear, accessories and other products using art, iconic characters and the Tokidoki logo designed by Simone Legno, including purses, t-shirts, vinyl figures, jewelry, and small toys.

A limited edition release of 1000 pieces will be available to purchase worldwide through selected K Karl Lagerfeld retailers as well as in the Tokidoki flagship stores in New York, Milan and Los Angeles. Each figure will include an individually numbered certificate of authenticity. Mini Karl has launched exclusively at Colette this month and will hit stores worldwide holiday 2009. Mini Karl retails for €129 (approx. $190)
