As the daughter of a bonafide style icon – in this case English beauty and Birkin bag namesake Jane Birkin – French actress/model Lou Doillon definitely had an advantage in life’s style stakes. Since bursting into the public eye, however, it is clear that Lou’s stylish head start was only a precursor to a natural, if eccentric, sense of style. For the June 2010 issue of L’Officiel magazine, the Parisian beauty has opened up her home for Chez Lou, an editorial featuring her bohemian-chic abode.
Lou’s eccentric and quirky fashion aesthetic clearly works hand-in-hand with her overall sense of style; an array of guitars hangs from her stairwell, while stacks of books lay piled around her coffee table; a voodoo-ish skull is placed eerily atop a piano, sitting alongside a paper reporting the sinking of the Titanic. While Lou’s peculiar, exaggerated decorations are hard to look past, a homey side can be seen; pictures and sketches of Lou’s family are pinned to one wall, while her kitchen is well-equipped with the makings of a five-course French meal.
