Lupita Nyong’o is big news at the moment. Not only has she received numerous nominations and awards for her acting talents lately, including her most recent and well-deserved Oscar for best supporting actress, but also she never fails to impress in the style stakes and she has firmly established herself as somewhat of a style icon of late.
Since the beginning of awards season, Lupita has graced the red carpet in an array of magnificent gowns and she nails it every time with her simple but bold fashion choices. Let’s have a look at some of the looks that have stunned so much so that she has designers galore wanting to dress her. She is a true style inspiration for us all and what’s more she makes it look so effortless.
At the Los Angeles Film Critics Awards, Lupita wore a soft-grey Marlene dress. She teamed this sophisticated wrap-style dress with Dior fine jewelry and added a little pop of color with Bruno Magli lilac patent-leather pumps.
She opted for floor-length and bold color at the Golden Globes in an orange/red Ralph Lauren cape dress that’s probably her most memorable look to date. She stunned in this captivating caped column gown.
At the Critics Choice Movie Awards, Lupita’s white custom-made Francisco Costa gown looked stunning against her beautiful skin and the cut outs added a sexy yet elegant touch. Teamed perfectly with a Calvin Klein clutch she oozed glamour.
The gorgeous turquoise hue of the Gucci gown that she donned for the SAG Awards complemented her skin tone perfectly. The embellished floral neckline added just the right amount of pizazz, and paired with complimentary blue eye-shadow and a crimson lip, she could do no wrong.
Another bold hue for the BAFTAS, this time green, Lupita looked amazing yet again in her Christian Dior gown. The pops of gold accentuated the color perfectly, and the different ‘ballgown’ cut as opposed to her favored ‘column’ gowns, suited her no end.
Undeniably the look we’ve all been waiting for and Lupita certainly didn’t disappoint in her choice of Prada gown for the OSCARS. She chose pale blue that she said reminded her of Nairobi. This Grecian pleated delight was just sublime and teamed with an elegant Fred Leighton headband she once again, as expected, nailed it.
There’s no doubt that Lupita Nyong’o will continue to top the best dressed polls and leave us all in awe of her standout style. We wait in anticipation for her next installment but for now, it’s a hard choice we know, but which of her red carpet looks is your favorite to date?
