The Italian edition of Vanity Fair Magazine has the exclusive first look at Madonna’s Spring 2010 campaign for Dolce & Gabbana. Madonna was shot by photographer Steven Klein for the campaign, which was inspired by Italian Neorealism cinema.
The shots, in black and white, depict the domestic side of the pop icon as she washes the dishes, prepares vegetables and eats pasta. Stefano Gabbana spoke to Vanity Fair Italy for the feature about Madonna and why she was the perfect choice for the campaign. “She loved the collection,” he said. Later he added, “She is passionate and impressively knowledgeable about Italian cinema.”
Although Madonna is rumored to be on the strictest of diets, Gabbana is certain that she does actually eat spaghetti. “Of course,” he said. “And she can allow herself to with all the exercise she does!”
